Glad you got the win, felt really bad for red there. Targeting people was the only way the game continued, yellow should have seen that. He didn’t need to get mad this game, i didn’t like that he did And yes red can’t have been mad he accepted a trade, he made that choice

I wouldn’t say that… I’ve played Julio and Oreo many times. Julio is just having fun as a substitute and Oreo might have needed the win for playoffs. Tensions get high sometimes with vc and you got to do your best to keep a cool head.

I was a little confused why the table was happy with working with you on army over Julio. Once it became clear Julio wasn’t getting road the table was in a better spot with Julio keeping army

My opinion looking in on this game was because Juliow had much good porting options with the Sheep and Wood. Didnt need much sheep in his position to plays so just port and devs and once road was out of reach all wood would ve used for is porting for ore or wheat

We also sent Julio a bit of heat early on and that gave us some space to work with the table (kind of).

The thing is that someone has to compete me for army otherwise and sadly (for me) the only one was DD, if no one competes me for army, i invest my resources in getting more points or even trying to sneak LR and win but since he was pushing for army i had to invest in devs.

when is it worth it to 3 road for a settlement. sometimes you have no other option. and some times its the diffrance between a 3 hex settle or a 2 hex settle

Love the content Dandy! Question for you: you don’t seem to place on the 9 5 10 very often. I’ve always thought this is a good spot for production odds. Is there a specific reason why you don’t place there?

Hi Ronson, I have no issues with 5910. It’s a great settle spot in terms of overall production. I usually do my best to place for advantage. The 5910 does give you built in road building and the 9 ore but I think I have a better game with the 693 as my outs are pretty solid - 6 3 11 or 9 10 11 left. Overall both picks are good but I think fighting army was just my better play here and 693 gives me the best chance for that. Usually with low wheat boards, people tend to put more emphasis on road building to “stay busy”. That’s why the 6 3 11 to 11 4 is insane for us as we solve our wheat problem with a road settle and we have an incredible production/ dev card game. Usually a 693 OSS spot is saying “I am to play dev cards”.

Was this a tabletalk obliteration? Julio had a pretty uphill battle to 10 once road was locked from him. At some point you started getting substantially ahead. And he was still perma blocked. He has no natural sheep, basically one number (8) to play off of. Not sure why he was getting permablocked after he's basically locked at 8 and needs 2 cities with little wheat and ore to win. To me it was tabletalk obliteration.

What are you smoking. The 8 sheep is God tier and he wasnt remotely close to be locked out of road. If he was able to just lock army with no competition he would take LR for the victory with only 4 more roads.

No wheat = defeat and a 3:1 port is way too slow as your only port to get wheat.

Oreo is a good competitor in the online space and a Canadian national finalist. Certainly wasn’t his best showing but I don’t hold it against him and hopefully no one here does either. We all have our bad and good days! :)
