Orange here. This game was a while back. I made three mistakes - bot picking my first settlement, not plowing to sheep port, not building one more road to get on the brick port. Other than that, Tmonies gameplay should speak for itself

Hey cruizin, glad to have you here. Plowing sheep port was definitely an idea, but not sure how effective that port is for you… but definitely a good defensive play if you are concerned about my position. I do think the 10 road connect was the priority with the board considering it was loose for blue and I to take. Either way, it’s a tough position for you with limited space and ports. Excited to run it back soon!

@@dandydrew yeah, I’m trying to remember that far back and I think I decided early on that I would go with an offensive play up to the brick port and try to beat blue there. Maybe I didn’t want to plow early on and piss off a player, although I’m not shy when it comes to taking a player out early. But yeah late game, hard to lock road when the 9 wood has been blocked and the pettiness levels are sky high. Gg

hey Dandy interested on your thoughts I see you and dylighted do this a lot @15:23 turn youre trying to get to a city, why not port the sheep for an ore to reduce your hand size at this point? I feel standing pat there increases your risk of 7-out on next turn..

Porting for an ore is a play. It’s more about flexibility for me and giving me more options (assuming I survive the 7). Also you run the risk of porting for an ore and potentially having a 33% chance of losing it to a steal. I suppose it’s more of a stylistic choice… it would be interesting to do a mathematical breakdown of different moves and potential outcomes to determine the expected value.

OK. expected resources in 3 rolls for you there is ~3 (1 per turn) thats factoring in assuming 50% of 7s taking from you. chance of ore being stolen are ~.17*.25 +.17*.20+.17*.17*50%=0.1 chances of you 7ing out on your turn are ~.15 but there are also chances of 7ing out earlier due to 10s/9s/2s this is far from exact but im not doing that much math today if you think you're being stolen from 100% of 7s then odds are better to do what you did, if you think it's 50%, better to port. roughly :)

Yeah I really agree. As someone able to hear Drew's tone of voice, it's pretty clear that he meant it like 'we're family', but if you only see the chat message that was actually sent, it really comes across as just 'you're my lackey'.

Dandy, I got to ask. How do you deal with the games that everything you do gets screwed. I mean, stolen from for no reason, dice completely neglected your numbers and plow after plow?!?!? I maintain a 30% win rate but can go on these crazy stretches were everything goes wrong!

It happens! Variance can be a real B****! If you can, I would recommend to record your games and look for moments where potential YOU made the mistakes and you could have improved your chances. It’s easy to find bad moves your opponents made and say that is the reason for the bad game, but that isn’t giving you a proactive and responsibility driven mindset. It could just be the case you are having a string of bad games though. Keep playing, keep your head in the hand, and do your best to analyze to find ways to improve YOUR game. Stay great.

Remind me to not do no ore game again very trash ore bord 3 and a 9 and 9 was on edge. Won with 13 roads 6 on army but couldn't ever get a city tell late.
