Terrible devastation in Hackberry, LA mainly wind damage but also evidence of strong storm surge. Weaker structures obliterated.

Stay in a RV during a Cat4 hurricane, that’s insane. Driving through water during a flood, like the car at the end also insane..

Why the hell would anyone want to stay behind in an RV? They need to go buy lottery tickets
@jd_railfan4 жыл бұрын
I was just thinking about that very same thing. People wonder why evacuations are mandatory instead of optional. Unless there was a problem with the rv itself, if you have movable residences, do so immediately. I don't care if people have "hurricane proof" shelters, if there is a high risk of danger, evacuate! That and even if your home survives, access to critical services have a chance to be inaccessable for undetermined amount of time.
@dannybell9264 жыл бұрын
@@jd_railfan yeah it makes no sense. There were local government services that were there to evacuate people who couldn't get out themselves and they just downright refused.

@Mara L Because I remodel houses and manufactured homes are not built well. They don't even have 2x4s. They use 2x3 used on fences. They use MDF instead of plywood and forget 16" centers on studs.

@@lalalamooone : I'm talking about the eye impact when looking at the radar and satellite. I'm not talking about the durability of the structure or the damage severity. I'm just into science. Holly beach is near the coast as compared to Lake Charles or Orange Texas. But the first hit when eye of Laura crashing into shore: Cameron, Creole, Grand Chennier and Rockefeller. Holly beach is almost near the Cameron, that being said -- it was the most hardest and badly devastated. Because, when eye continuously to moved in across the landmass -- it was already weakening stage as well, Laura losed it strength after the whole eye or all sides of the eyewall was bearing down or touching down the soil of southwestern area of Louisiana State. Laura had weakened into a category 3, 2, 1 until became tropical storm even depression as it proceed its journey into landmass of the USA. Laura had managed to be maintaining its strength while impacting the coastal towns which facing into Gulf of Mexico. However as it closer into Lake Charles, it appears to be weakening was in effective literally evidently observed via radar, satellite, pressure device and personal observation from storm chasers. Hurricane is a hurricane but if you gonna exaggerating the sustained winds that is lie ahead despite being observed and not only just to focusing on estimation. And Laura failed to attempt the Category-5 status in terms of pressure-wise of 937 mb was the lowest central pressure (through reckon). Laura could have been qualified if she dropped more mb like 17mb- 23mb or probably 920mb - 915mb (requirements to become a category-5 status). Thus, Laura should be a greater 137 knots and not just only 130 knots. But Laura's peaking winds was considerably as a high-end category-4. Although, nuff said; of course it's a catastrophe when it comes to destruction, gusty winds -- many didn't even understand and pay attention regarding it. However the gustiness is always being considered as a wind-threat -- being that said again for such ordinary people -- they'd rather concerning mainly about the sustained wind.

I went threw 4 in Florida and they were not real bad but it took us a year to get a roofer one time and 3 weeks to get power..
