Wow hold on mate have you never heard of the Dutch Empire? And wasn't it The British who stood up to Hitler in the 2nd World War when he invaded your country and wasn't it the British as part of the allied forces who freed your country in 1944? And what do you mean "is still happening", have you never heard of the Anglo Irish treaty that was signed and agreed by the south? I wouldn't mind if the song was actually about the real Black and Tans of the WOI, but its not, in fact the song is about an Irishman calling "other Irishmen and Irish women Black and Tans" at a time when the Black and Tans did not exist and had been disbanded years before! Talk about not understanding your Irish History or the actual song.

I may have had the misfortunate accident to be born in England, but thankfully, it was Liverpool. My parents were Celts - Irish and Scottish and I was raised on this song from being a nipper - back in the 1960 and 1970s, it was illegal to possess @Irish Rebel music', let alone play it. But play it we did as loud as we could. It'll be played at my funeral too.
@skippership72 жыл бұрын
But the song is not about the English or British, it's about one Irish family's injustice and cruelty towards another Irish family, hence the English in the song were actually Irish and not English or British.

Very impressive song. Our homeland also were colonised by the British from 1786 to 1957 (for the Malay States) and 1842 to 1963 for the Malaysian Borneo States (Sabah or North Borneo and Sarawak). The British had separated my family through the Treaty of Bangkok 1909 where the Northern Malay States divided into 2 sphere namely the British Malaya and Siamese Southern States. I still have my family in the Southern Thailand. Proud with the Irish gained their independence from Britain in 1922.

The first verse is "autobiographical" (I assume you know what that means) so go through the first verse and tell me, for example: "Who was born in a Dublin Street?"... "which street was he born?" and "in what year?" was he born, and who "The loving English feet?" are, and who was "me Da?" in the first verse, and if you can't answer at least 4 of those questions there is absolutely not a hope in hell of you really understanding the song! Go on, have a go!

It would be fun if the Irish rebel song "Come Out Ye' Black And Tans" was sung by this Irish singer on the talent show "Britain's Got Talent". It would be even funnier if this video was shown in the background on the big screen. Although the songs "Go On Home British Soldiers" or "Rifles of the IRA" would be better because the songs are more unambiguous. An explain for those who don't know the "Black and Tans" which were mentioned in the song! The Black and Tans (Irish na Dúchrónaigh), officially the Royal Irish Constabulary Special Reserve, was one of two paramilitary groups in Ireland from 1920 to 1921. In January 1920 the British government launched a recruiting campaign for "men ready to do a tough and dangerous job" to support the Royal Irish Constabulary (RIC) in increasingly anti-British Ireland. This government campaign was the idea of Winston Churchill, who was British Secretary of War at the time. As it turned out, there was no shortage of recruits. Many of the applicants were WWI veterans. In November 1921, the Black and Tans numbered about 9,500 men. This large number of men quickly led to a shortage of uniforms, so that new recruits were equipped with khaki army uniforms (usually just the pants) and dark green or blue British police uniforms. This mixture of colors led to the nickname "Black and Tans" (literally translated: black and brown), a reference to a well-known pack of hunting dogs from County Limerick. The name persisted even after the group received new uniforms. Officially, the Black and Tans - like the second group, the Auxiliary Division which was just as cruel and brutal - belonged to the Royal Irish Constabulary, but in fact they acted almost independently. Both groups served to suppress and combat Sinn Féin and the Irish Republican Army (IRA) and practiced pro-British state terrorism. In the summer of 1920 the Black and Tans devastated entire towns and villages in Ireland including: Tuam in County Galway, Trim, Balbriggan, Knockcroghery, Thurles, Templemore, Tralee. The center of Cork was burned down. Because of the crimes and atrocities they committed, many Irish still get emotional when Black and Tans are mentioned today. "Black and Tan" or "Tan" is still a derogatory term for the occupiers of Ireland today. (So for... the British) The Irish War of Independence is therefore often called the "Tan War".

Viva a Irlanda! Dublin ireland, You are entitled to a "different point of view" but your information is not strictly accurate. The Black and Tans were not all ex-soldiers. One of the most brutal and infamous was only nineteen and had served in no army. His commander, in that part of Ireland, was a high ranking Catholic RIC man. It is foolish, indeed ignorant, to lay all the blame on English people. The elites who ran government, yes, Today, if the Irish government is involved, with the other war mongering elite's do the Irish people know about the atrocities the country is complicit in? Ireland is not a sovereign country today so what did those who died achieve? I am not underestimating their courage. Just, as in all revolutions, what the manipulator "survivors did with the power given to them by the people.

Trotsky era um picareta did you not know that? Its not thought in schools over here as well, but its common knowledge, strangely enough the PIRA, who supported capitalism, received aid from Moscow, go figure...
@roberts90954 жыл бұрын
@@trotskyeraumpicareta4178 there were many different organizations that called themselves the IRA. The original IRA (often called the Old IRA) were not marxists in any way, shape, or form. There were a few fringe Marxist IRA factions during the Troubles, most Republican paramilitaries weren't too fond of them. Even the Provisional IRA weren't exactly Marxist, they were left wing nationalists.

Partition has failed, time to end British rule NOW!!!
@dan-8604 жыл бұрын
Partition only failed due to the IRA collapsing Ulster’s economy through scaring investment away thorough terrorist means. The Northern Irish economy was superior to the free states till the troubles broke out in the late 60s.

@@dan-860 Everything you say is true but you conveniently forget that the catholic minority were systematically excluded in all aspects of life and igzistance. From houseing to jobs. Now that the unemployment is about equal and the misery is shared it requires A different mindset.

Emory King catholic’s weren’t excluded from housing or jobs. Priority was given to Protestants. Which of course was wrong. But I’m catholic constituency’s like south down the Protestants where the ones being mistreated. Also the unemployment rate in modern day Northern irekand is 2.1%. The lowest in the who,e of Europe in fact, and with the NI economy now improving drastically (although being hampered by brexit, well make it through it) partition will actually flourish. And will most likely stay for another 1000 glorious years.

@Alex Jones I live on the American side of the Atlantic. We are citizens NOT subjects as you We have the right to keep and bear arms. Thisis how we won our independence, ANd how we maintain it. The IRA fought the uk to the good friday accords. The prods felt abandoned by this agreement, many are leaving for their holdings in south Africa. My dream is that the I R would become the 51st united state, probably impossible but I wish.
