Enjoyed that Andy. I believe you won fish-o at monks lake. I think it’s the first time you have fished it. The match lakes are full of skimmers which as you say are ignored but have put on weight and the bigger ones are now over 4lbs.

Hi Andy would you use these tactics at Barston in late may?. I'm fishing a MOD memorial match there never fished it before, most of my fishing is done at Summerhays.

Depending on the weather those tactics could be really effective! However, it's likely that you will need to catch carp that time of year to win the match out right. Fishing shallow(slapping) with 8mm pellets on the pole can be very effective in areas. Also, Bomb and pellet, pellet waggler and method/banjo can play a crucial part. It will all depend on the weather and where you draw :)

Try n fish for the carp and you'll end up with small skimmers Try fishing for the Bream you'll end up with carp.. Sods Law.. Try balling in 20 big jaffas Guaranteed big big bags of Bream n CARP....
