It sounds like he’s headed to BYU. That’s a great university with an amazing fanbase.

I doubt he was going to beat out Heide or Colvin. 2 years in the system (and weight room) vs true frosh that's skinny as hell and hasn't played defense to date. Next man up.

I’m a hugh Purdue fan but not a CMP fan but this was the correct decision. Never keep a player or woman that doesn’t want to be kept

Dowd revealed the backstory. Painter brought in the sixth recruit because he sensed Catchings would flake out. "Things have a way of working out," meant I don't trust Kanon is going to commit to our "Team First" philosophy. He appeared to be the complete opposite of Mason Gillis.

It seems like a big hit to those on the outside but all and all clarifies that Catchings is NOT a program guy. This probably saves the locker room and culture that Painter has sustained thus far. I feel it has more to do with Heide turning a corner as a playmaker Offensively as the season went on.

I'm bummed, but I'm happy Painter doesn't play favorites. It wouldn't be fair to the rest of the team and would set a bad tone for the program giving into demands.

You are forgetting about Waddell. He is 6-8 and has the potential to be a stud. Hopefully CMP gives him a fair shot at PT this year. So Catchings leaving might be a blessing in disguise

I didn’t freak out when Gibbs de commit (ovb wasnt as high and more details known) I’m not gonna freak out here. COLVEN is deserving of proving himself. I’m basically saying that when they leave like this they were never a fit for us to begin with.

Good riddance, don't need a me guy on the team. Heard he had attitude problems anyway. Disrespecting elders and cussing refs. Mom was hoping Matt could make a man of him.

2 NBA players? Jaden Ivey is the only Purdue player in the league right now & Detroit is trying to shop him due to poor performance. Trevion is playing in Europe, Carsen Edward's is playing overseas too. Edey hasn't been drafted yet so...who's the other? I knew Catchings wasn't ever gonna go to Purdue but its been like 3 years since his commitment so I really thought he was serious. He was just too high of a star to go to Purdue cause 3 stars is the absolute max Painter will ever go. Its like some voodoo gypsy put a curse on him that makes it impossible to recruit athletic NBA level kids. The talent level from last season to this up & coming season is as vast as vast could be & that's honestly terrifying. UConn should've been a massive red flag that Purdue NEEDS an athletic NBA lottery pick scorer to especially now that they have Fletcher as their best scorer...love the kid but he's NEVER gonna lead a national championship team as the #1 guy. Smith is a true point guard but I seriously have concerns now that he doesn't have a behemoth of a man to pass to. Most were almost comically easy cause their is a huge window Braden has to pass it that ONLY Edey could catch. Colvin and Heide now have a massive amount of pressure & opportunity as well. I would've put all my money on Colvin being the transfer/decomit during the season.

Typical little brother attitude. If someone decides to take a new job because they think it's best for him/his family, normal people wish him well. If a Purdue recruit leaves, the Purdue mentality is to take offense at it. LOL. Boiler DOWN. WAY DOWN.
