Hello! I'm Joey. In this video, I will share with you how I installed a catch can for my Nissan Navara. I gave here a little explanation on why do we need to install a catch can, what are it's purposes and functions in our vehicle, as well as the other materials that I used to be able to complete my catch can installation. Finally, I did a review on it's effectiveness in filtering the exhaust gas or blow by with oil vapors before it recirculates again inside the engine.

Be carefull dont blow engine seals by positive pressure inside engine... that device not really recommended

Non-expert question: with your explanation on what it's for and what it does, it looks like this should be an integral part of a turbocharged or direct fuel-injected engines. Why did the manufacturers not include such device? Will this void warranty?

I was able to install the OCC. Pero sa kabilang side. 😁 Used the existing holes malapit sa ABS at nagfabricate nlng ako ng extended bracket. So my OCC is near the hydrovac. 😁 Thank you!

Thank you po sir. Noted po yung hose na nabili ko ay chemical hose nabili ko ito sa hydrolic hose ang fittings supply yan din kasi inisip ko una hindi dapat affected ng heat since nasa loob ng hood at yung presence ng oil.

Normal naman na may nababawas na konti oil dahil sa normal na blowby maliban na lang kung maluwag na ang piston ring magiging malakas na kumain ng oil ang engine dahil nga malakas na ang blowby or yung tapon ng oil. Hindi pwede irecirculate ito dahil maraming contaminants na kasama katulad ng water at carbon na makakasira sa makina.

Thank you for watching. Late narin ako nakapaglagay ng OCC nasa 3years na ang navara ko at 45k ang odometer nung inistall ko. Mas maganda ata pag labas ng casa lagyan na agad para wala talagang oil na papasok. Ang worries ko lang ay baka matuyo yung mga oil na unang pumasok sa egr, gusto ko rin iDiy cleaning ito pero bibili muna ako ng scanning tool.

Hello brother Yes you can install this but this is only to prevent exhaust oil ang dirt from circulating to your turbo ang exhaust manifold. It is better to clean your egr, turbo ang exhaust manifold first before installing it.

Thanks for watching. Sir yung pcv sa navara is also 16mm pero yung catxh can ko ay 1 inch or 25mm. Kaya nag diy ako ng reducer sa inlet at outlet ng catch can.

The issue with catch cans is you are now reducing the lubricant that the turbo needs to function properly. In general use your engine burns off this oil vapour as it is designed to. The carbon build people have is from problems with the egr due to soot build up from doing short journeys from a cold start in a diesel truck. The catch can will not stop this. It's a bit of a myth. Also a catch can will reduce power also and cause engine issues long term. It all sounds that a catch can is the right thing to do, but it isn't. Most engine tune companies will get you to take it out before they do a true engine tune. These cans are very cheap to make so if they worked as intended they would be part of the truck from factory.

Sir, i installed mine but unluckily the drained oil doesn't go to the drainage but still on the output. The filter that i received was a wire mess filter together with the catch can itself. Any ideas sir on how to fix mine?thank you in advance.

Thank you for watchung. Wait nyo lang po kusang bababa ang oil dahil sa gravity. Ganyan din po sa akin medyo naipon muna ng konti sa canister bago bumagsak sa drain hose.

@@joeysd.i.y salamat sa reply sir..yung kinalabasan tuloy is npupunta yung oil sa output na hose instead sa drain nya. tsaka parang wire mess yung filter ko yun yung na receive ko kasama ng item..unlike po sa inyo parang paper. Kung bago ang sasakyan nyo at kalalabas lang ng casa pwede po pero kung ilang years nyo na ginagamit hindi na po kasi may mga oils na yung egr, manifold at kung naka turbo kayo sure na may oil na rin yan. Kasi if lagyan nyo parin ang magyayari sa oils matututo at titigas at yung ang mag cause ng pagkasira ng egr at turbo. Opinion ko lang po iyan magandang mag tanong din kayo sa ibang mas nakakaalam. Thank you for watching. Sir if marumi na ang egr talagang magkakaroon ng effect ito sa performance ng sasakyan at kung sobrang barado na ay possi ble na mag limp mode ito, dahil mali na ang reading ng mga sensors. Try mo rin mag cleaning ng MAP sensor.

Yung navara ko nasa almost 63k kms. na pero ok pa naman. If itatanong mo kung lumakas ang hatak after ko mag install ng OCC ang sagot hindi walang nabago sa performance but sa tingin ko malaki ang naitulong kasi hindi masyadong dumumi ang egr.
