Brilliant Garfish heaven in that bit of water. In my time I've caught garfish since I was a kid to well over a thousand and 72 in a day such superb sport on light tackle but never ate one. If I accidentally catch one will do now, nice one 😊

Excellent as always young man. Great to see a different fishing style. And that garfish brilliant cook up. Never seen them eaten before, which I agree a mistake. Did look amazing. Wasn't sure if it was going to be oily but looked very white and fine. Can imagine great taste. Already looking forward to your next adventure. Stay safe fella, look after yourself and keep up the great quality vids. Always grateful for the obvious time and effort you put in. 👍.

Good ole Captain Beaky, the first sea fish I ever caught back in 1985 from Chesil. Haven’t seen any there yet this year, they must all be in the cove! Great film as always and tight lines!

I wasn't expecting a Garfish cook up, now that's different. I wouldn't have thought to fillet them like that either. I was told by a Guernsey native (a few years back) that you just chop them into chunks and flash fry them. What you did makes more sense, I might even try it some time. Great watch.
@fishdisco31072 күн бұрын
@@johnchambers2509 hi there John, I just went with my gut😂 not eaten one before, but I recall lots of pin bones when I used them as bait in the past, so filleting them will then allow you to remove these. If I was in a cleaner environment & could give my hands a good scrub, cutting into chunks would make great finger food I’m sure, I feel like they would go really well with a rich tomato sauce, a nice tapas dish maybe? Thanks as always for watching buddy, take care 😎👍👍

Hi Lincoln, Lovely video and cook up. Garfish are tasty for sure I found then similar to mackerel personally and too good for bait unless you're a BFT 😄😄😄😄. Stick a small Dexter wedge or similar in your box they work great for that type of scenario when there's different fish in your swim.. Lots of Squid in East Sussex and Bass OTT the last few weeks has provided us with some welcome sport. I even made a Paella and used the squid (cooked at home not on the beach) mind you. Tight lines buddy and thanks again.

Hey there Simon. Good to hear your getting plenty of action down your way. Ha yes, the good old Dexter wedge, good call, I need to get a couple more to replace the ones I lost, cracking lures👍 …did you use any squid ink in your paella? Thanks as always Simon, your support is always appreciate buddy 😎👍👍

@@fishdisco3107 No i haven't used any squid ink Lincoln, how much do you suggest I add? maybe the whole ink sack to the dish? Thanks for the advice mate
@fishdisco31072 күн бұрын
@@simonknox5580 yes, there is no magic ratio really…when we buy it at work it just comes in a little sachet, we add to risotto towards the end of cooking, it’s more for the colour than flavour although there is a slight “fishyness” to it. It’s nice to try if you have it to use. Take care buddy 😎👍👍
