Good advice again, Rick. I still sleep in my truck sometimes and also pitch a tent. I remember in February of 1996 at Sam Rayburn during the B.A.S.S. Invitational, you were camping at Mill Creek on site 107 and I had my tent on site 13. The evening of the cancelled second day, I drove by your site, but all that was there was your boat tarp on the pad. Then, after the weigh-in the next day, which was the final day, you explained you went to your daughter's basketball game the previous night. That was an admirable thing to do, especially since you were in second place.

Thought I'd share a funny story. You've talked about how you snuck into ponds alot when you were growing up. I did too...but most of the time with permission except this one time when I got caught by someone you know of. Across from my grandparent's was an awesome old pond that I used to sneak into. Well, one day I was over there and put of nowhere an F250 came out the woods driving down the dam...I was caught and decided to stand my ground. Well, ole 1981 classic winner Stanley Mitchell and his buddies rolled the window down and smiled at me saying there must be some misunderstanding here lol. I came up with a good enough story for him to finally tell me that next time I should call him before fishing and he gave me his number. I was so relieved. Well, the next weekend I called that number up....and wouldn't ypu know, he gave me a fake number. Haha This was about 2004-ish

I remember when Elroy Krueger used to make his own spinner baits. Big blades and pouring his 1 to 1and a half once lead on the spinner bait frames. Getting down to the depths where bass haven't seen them before.

Thank you for taking my question on Elroy.

Good video. Long live the spinnerbait! They are relatively easy to make for the home luremaker like me.😊

I agree, they’re a classic!

It seems to me what really separates the pro,s from the average anglers is the ability to find fish. How is it they can come to a lake they have never fished and find them so fast. What was your process for eliminating water. Thanks for taking my questions sir.
