Forgive my question, I'm trying to learn 7 string but I'm not sure how its normally tuned for playing detuned songs, and I don't know anyone who can play 7 string to teach me. For a drop A song on a 7 string, do you tune the heaviest 6 strings in B standard, then drop the low B to A; and the high E is just an extra string that you may or may not use much? For drop C on a 7 string, do you tune the heaviest 6 strings to D standard, drop the low D to C, and use the high D as an extra string?

I'll be honest, I haven't even attempted to learn it yet. ☠️ I like the song but I don't LOVE it. 😥 by the time you hear the first chorus, the song is basically over. Maybe it'll grow on me. I wouldn't be shocked if it does.

@@FinalBeta It’s a solid first single. I don’t like how the first chorus just doesn’t belt out like the 2nd and 3rd choruses. Like the song is really good but I feel like making the song longer would’ve actually helped it. So far I’m not the only one. Myself and many others give it an 8/10. I will say The Evening Hate was a much better first single than Surrogate. Just my opinion though. Really like Catch my Breath too btw! Got into them because of TikTok 😅

@@MoskauProductions Pretty much feel the same way. TEH was a far better first single. The only thing better about this song is the production and mix. It sounds wayyyyyyyy better than anything off of Declaration.

@@FinalBeta Fucking agree dude!!! The drums sound so much better on this song. Like the snare had my truck thumping when I first played it. And the guitar production reminds me a lot of Bad Omens last album. I’m with you when I say that the guitars sounds soooooo much better on Surrogates. The single string riffs are very clear and crisp and it was pretty easy to learn this song by ear.

Quick question. What do you use for backing tracks on your covers? I am wanting to start getting into doing more guitar covers and I can't for the life of me figure out what people use. If I use the original tracks the original guitars get in the way so what's your approach? Thanks!

I use the original song. I turn the track down so my guitar is more audible. I double track the guitar and pan each guitar track hard left and hard right.
