This reminds me of a challenge I made myself where you have to play pokemon with only pokemon that share one type and the type is decided by a wheel you spin. Once you beat a gym leader you spin the wheel again and once you are at the point you have all the gym badges the only pokemon you can use are the pokemon that you have used so far in the run and your starter if you haven't used your starter yet.

I started with an Turtwig recently and duo to the lack of Fire Type in Sinnoh, did I had to catch an Houndoom. It had 2 perfect IV and Timid Nature, sadly not the hidden Ability. Took a few Pokeballs to capture though, as well as Healing to keep my Higher level Pokemon in so it could not Roar me out
