The opening of the trap wasn’t even submerged. I guess they just climbed their way up and into it. It’s so obvious you put those crawfish in there.

Such an insane catch. The strangest thing is the species of crawfish. Based on the white underside and the dimpled claws they remind me of a virile crawfish which is a northern species but are known to be invasive in other parts of NorthAmerica. The body length fits as they get about 5 inches without claws. They are tasty but also a great food supply for carnivorous fish. You just got the catfish some free food. There are probably thousands of them in that swamp and if they are that species they are invasive outside of their native habitat. Great video and look forward to more

@mikepisani17175 ай бұрын
Well if they are native don't fish in the same spot. Let them breed
@nneesp5 ай бұрын
I can’t say Im convinced you caught those. As with other comments they aren’t a native species and the fact that none of them were moving after taking the trap out of the water tells me they are a freshwater species that were just submerged in likely brackish water which puts them in a catatonic state…
@JoshDavis-ss7ee4 ай бұрын
This is by far the the best and most accurate comment on here. I'm around 95% sure these are virile crawfish which yes are invasive but the fact that these crawfish were just removed from brackish water and they are completely catatonic makes me believe your correct that these were probably purchased and placed there or caught elsewhere and placed here. No way they would be that lifeless after being recently caught and removed.

I’m sure it was not your intention but I think you might of just gave the ducks/geese a free feed of giant crawfish ! the little ones might be able to hide in the creek but the ducks are going to spot those giants pretty quick !
@CatchEmAllFishingZakCatchEm5 ай бұрын
I saw big ones like that out before they are just wiser I believe!!! And must dig deeper unless food is out! But you’re probably right hahah oh well we love our ducks 😅
@missInsane35 ай бұрын
@@CatchEmAllFishingZakCatchEm maybe they will dig tunnels for themselves, if not the ducks need love too 😊. That’s nature at its finest ! I do love your little creek ecosystem though. ✌🏼❤️😊
