Catchin' Em In The POND PROWLER!!

What's up everybody! So I took the new Pond Prowler out for a few hours after the mods to see how it worked and to of course catch some! I know you have caught some monsters in your lifetime. How big would one have to be now for you to mount it?

It would have to be at least 10 pounds or more. I would still release it but I would take pictures and measure the girth and have a replica mount done.

So how stable was it for standing? Did you feel like you needed to keep yourself centered? I would imagine the weight in the back/center would help with that, but you really didn't address it.

Hey Chris. Appreciate you watching and the question! Sorry for not speaking about that part. So, I definitely don’t need to keep myself centered or at least I don’t think about that. With the trolling motor pedal screwed down in the center it kind of keeps me there but I do move around when I land fish, change baits or what not. I have no issues with stability but of course there is some movement due to being smaller but nothing terrible. It fishes really well. Thanks again.

@@bassin9114 Awesome. I was worried that raising the center of gravity like that would cause an issue. But the weight back aft helps with that I'm sure. BTW, I laughed when you glued the board to the wrong side of the carpet. What DIYer hasn't done that before? 🤣 I also watched that vid you posted on the rudder/skeg. Good idea there. Do you have an idea about rod management? I was thinking of using those clips that you use on a wall. Just completed a bunch of mods on a sundolphin journey 12 kayak. Gotta make a youtube vid. Those things have pointy ends, so you gotta create the transom. Fun project, but I'm gonna sell it. Picked up a used Sportsman like yours so I was browsing ideas for mods. BOOMER SOONER

Yeah as far as rod storage goes, there’s a vid that a guy did who has a 10’ pelican and he used 1 1/2 PVC pipe and placed them underneath the casting deck but on the sides of the boat (where the cup holders are). I really wanted to do that but honestly was just ready to get done and go fishing but his design was really good. Just search for that.👍 BOOMER!!!

I read OU is considering a jump to the SEC. I guess they're tired of being conference champs every year🤣 Originally from Edmond. Sis has a house boat on Eufaua. I was there a month ago ad caught a bunch of pigs along the bank on a whopper plopper, even though the water was chocolate soup. When you were talkung about clear water, my thoughts went to Lake Murray.
