I caught someone back in the mid 2000s selling bootleg copies of NES games, claiming they were authentic “unreleased” titles. Messaged him calling him out, and he told me to f*ck off. So I wanted to see what would happen if Nintendo found out, so I called NOA and asked if there was someone there to talk to that handles bootleggers. They transfer me to a guy that got onto eBay, and took the auction number from me. He looked at the listing while on the phone, and started to chuckle at how ridiculous the listing was. He thanked me, said he’d handle it, and we hung up. Half hour later, the guy’s listing was gone, and his account was closed.
