I’m using daiwa tatula sv tw now. Cause of your vids. Waterloo rods Gonna get a 150 for reds. The sv tw doesn’t hold a lot of line.
@LAFishBlog2 жыл бұрын
Joe, you can use an SV for redfish in the same way you can use a Corvette as a family car. It will work, just not very well and there are better choices. The 150 is a much better choice, so good job on that. Each rod/reel/whatever is just a tool in the toolbox, so I am glad you recognize that and hope anyone else reading this does, too. With that said, I did write this review on the SV and its recommended uses: www.lafishblog.com/daiwa-tatula-sv-review/

@@LAFishBlog can the 150 cast light weights like the sv? I still use 1/8oz heads for reds in my area. Mostly shallow water here.

Great video showing the value of covering ground (water) to get to the productive fishing spots and catching them under windy weather conditions. What an awesome insight: Anise oil! ( Note to self: re-check LAFB-Elite for that note). Most memorable fishing quotes: "It's a redfish. Oh, NOOOOO!" LOL. One question: Do you always use light-line and a spinning reel for your drop-shot rigs or was that because of those conditions on that day? Please keep them coming.
@LAFishBlog5 жыл бұрын
Thank you and thank you! Yes, I always use light line when dropshotting, as I really only use it for speckled trout. If I were to change it up and target, say...big reds in deep passes....I'd upgrade the power of the reel, rod and line. Tight lines!

The tatula 100 is saltwater ready??
@LAFishBlog4 жыл бұрын
Hey Dillon, I guess it really depends on how you define "saltwater ready" and what's "saltwater". The salinity where I fished in this video is not above 10ppt, with average seawater being 35ppt. My Tatula 100s (and every other Daiwa reel I own) work fine, not because they have corrosion resistant ball bearings or whatever in them, but because I take care of them after every trip. Thanks for commenting.
