Catching a PB Conger Eel on a 10ft mackerel rod!

Catching my PB conger eel on a 10ft mackerel rod! Fishing close to a wreck with the weather closing in I switched over to a stronger reel with braid for my last drop, but kept the light rod. I did not expect this 6ft conger eel to take the bait!
I had to carefully play this fish up so i did not damage the rod. What a thrilling battle this was!

How much it weigh?

Annoying I didn’t have scales but it’s length would put it about 30-40lbs. Considering my only other was 10lbs I was happy :)

I had one last night from the shore with a size 4 hook pulley rig 😂but no scales ...5.5ft length and 8.5 inch thick behind the head
