I've been having a tough time catching them on the chowan river . I've been trying everything live bait ,cut, chicken , nightcrawler ,crickets .Santee Cooper rigs , bottom rigs suspended rigs just skunking

Try fresh cut fish heads, stuff some Powerbait Cut Shad dough in the mouth. Get some King Oscar Mackerel in olive oil, drsin the oil and soak the body pieces in the mackerel oil. Use the mackerel for Mack salad. Hook from under the jaw, not thru the eyes. Good luck

Just fished lake Wylie this morning again. Shrimp is still where it’s at for me so far. I caught 2 channels , 4 bluegill and a turtle within 3 hours. Now I’m back home and I just cooked up the rest of my bait I had left over. Fish bait salad and a baked potato lol that’s my update for today. I hope you are having good luck.

How much was your trolling motor
@PatJones-f1sАй бұрын
What trolling motor ya using? Do you have GPS to control your troll/drift? Or just foot control?
@DieterMelhornАй бұрын
MinnKota and it does have GPS tracking on it, and I use a remote control that clips to my belt. Thats easier than the foot control with the cable.
@PatJones-f1sАй бұрын
@@DieterMelhorn I have an Advanced GPS kit coming for my Minn Kota in the next few days. If you have or are interested in creating a drift/drag video using the trolling motor features and specific rigging I’d definitely watch it 😉
@waynevaughan2781Ай бұрын
Auto pilot is almost an absolute must if you’re going to consistently drag/troll for catfish. Foot control will work, but it would be frustrating.

Are you fishing on a river or a lake?
@catherinebellaire7298Ай бұрын
You didn't kill the fish first before cutting a piece of flesh. The fish must have suffered unnecessary still alive with a chunk of flesh fillet cut off.
