Great vid....I know it's a couple years old but very cool to watch. Anyways, I use a Hi Low Rig....with two and three hooks. I was wondering if its better to use the same bait on all the hooks or would it make a difference using two or even three different baits?....i.e. Hook one, Sandworm Camo....Hook two, Motor Oil Grub....Hook three, Z Man Crusteaz chartreuse? Thanks....great vids.

Redtails are delicious, aren't they? Happy to see your group having a fun, productive morning out on the beach! Never thought about leaving the scales on when I'm grilling up a fish but maybe I'll try it out now on a smaller perchy as an experiment :)
@MoreThanFishing7 жыл бұрын
Yeah Patrick it was a fun day fishing. Yeah you should try leaving the skin on when you grill it, I'm telling you it's really good 😊
@israelvibrations1007 жыл бұрын
More Than Fishing so your saying you did scale it with Just the skin on? Or no scaling what so ever...i tried that on other fish with the scales on its very sharp.....and hard to eat......and it very dry....but I can peel the skin right off and it's Easier to eat just pure meat😀 So your saying Salt pepper no oil or butter?? And all the scales on?🤤🤤🤤 let me know cuz gotta try it
@user-kk6lc1th2r7 жыл бұрын
Haha yeah I'm thinking he meant to say "you don't need to _skin_ it"... but that you should still _scale_ it. Still, don't want to put words in Jun's mouth so we'll wait to see what he says. I agree though on keeping the skin on. I do that with most fish I catch (perch, rockfish, greenlings, bass, trout, etc...) because it works for the way I cook them. But taking off the skin does reduce the amount of contaminants you potentially ingest so skin-off is a healthier way to eat.

Where did you go to get those perch, and what was tide like? Moon? Time of day? I've already been to Baker and Ocean Beach I caught a few small ones but no red tail
@user-kk6lc1th2r7 жыл бұрын
I fish OB, China, Baker, etc.. and actually pulled in a few nice redtails last Saturday. Perch schools (red tail and otherwise) tend to move around a lot so if you're on a flat beach like OB or Baker my advice would be to keep moving down the beach until you start hitting them; they move in a lot closer and feed more aggressively on an incoming tide as well. Personally, I think you'll have much better luck fishing close to structure like rocks, piers, etc.. If you're local in SF a great place to get into some perch would be here (goo.gl/maps/5QNKUStnfrP2), here (goo.gl/maps/GB4xDsVTEKC2), and here (goo.gl/maps/BsDdmhTJMcA2). Fish a #4 hook with gulp sandworms, power grubs, or sandcrabs and cast out towards any structure you see. Perch school in these areas all the time. Lots of dinks, but there'll always be a slab or three hanging around. Tight lines and be safe!
