I spooled it with 8 LB test mono for lighter lures, gave it some practice casts and found that it did cast well kzbin.infoUgkxSlytCJqozTF7EbdP4LWP-HUXf9WRDJ0e , except that the anti-backlash setting had to be turned up almost all of the way to keep the "overcasts' ' down. I disassembled it, and found that if I potted some "shim washers" behind that anti-backlash magnet assembly, it got the magnets closer to the spool without rubbing, and I could get better control with about a 6 to 7 out out 10-Max setting. I also noticed that the handle shaft had some internal end play, maybe only 2 or 3 thousands of an inch, but it's still noticeable. If the anti-backlash and shaft tolerances were "tightened up" this would be a fantastic value. I've only used it for 4 days of fishing in a month's time, but I plan on keeping it.

Been cruising ponds in NE FL for the past couple weeks sight fishing. If I had to pick my favorite soft plastic, I would say the BioSpawn Exoswims as they have dynamite action, killer colors, and SUPER affordable on Shop Karls. I haven't caught my biggest on it, but quite a few 3-4 pounders. For those bass that just don't want to bite the 10,000 Fish Sukoshi Bug is my go to. Something about their Stretch-X plastic entices bites. Great vid Noah 👍🏻

Practice makes perfect if you bird nest it don't get upset because you're going to bird nest it alot. Remember to keep your thumb over the reel and use your thumb to stop it. I usually stop it with my thumb right before it hits the water. Took me a lot of practice before I stopped bird nesting the shit out of mine. I still do every once in a while but you'll get better at it and used to knowing when to put your thumb down at the right time.

A bass’s tongue has major blood vessels, that’s why it bled so much, sad chance that bass didn’t make it due to all the bleeding because a vessel was busted, instead of just a gill hook, but it happens man it’s not like you could hook a fish perfect on the top lip every time
