Have you tried adding activated carbon into the pond filter? That should clear up everything. You could also add a large pothos plant and it’ll help as well.

Spike is by far my favorite reminds me of my starry puffer I had. So much personality in those fish. I unfortunately lost him due to a power outage that caused my marine tank to crash and all my fish died. Would love to start up a marine tank again to get a new puffer but sadly i can't afford it 😢
