Catching Monster Fish From A Kayak

A group of us went out of Depoe Bay again, and we caught some monster size fish out of our kayaks.

Pk going to oregon to fish for salmon and steelhead as a non resident. Can we harvest wild salmon and steelhead? I am confused on which tag to get . On website online website can't purchase "Hatchery Harvest Tag" without purchasing "Combined Angling Tag"

Oh, sorry. I don't target salmon or steelhead. Only caught 1 salmon here in Oregon several years back. The salmon/steelhead regulations here is a little tricky, so I would read on it more and ask around. However.... I do buy the "combined angling tag" each year, hoping that I would go but I never do, mainly due to time and family constraints. The "combined angling" has the harvest tag, I believe. MYODFW has a mobile app, so suggest you use that. Anyways, sorry couldn't be much of help. Good luck.

@@oregonlife figured it out. With combined angling tag you can tag up to 20 wild or hatchery salmon or steelhead per year. If you exceed 20 you can get the hatchery harvest tag to only catch hatchery steelhead or salmon. No wild. People sometimes just use the combined angling tag to keep wild salmon and steelhead then switch to hatchery tag to keep hatchery fish. Gold brach and rogue river require an additional tag and validation to fish for steelhead from Dec 1st to April 1st. I am just getting combined angling tag and rogue river validation when I go up. Plus 7 day license
