I parked at Lazy L and L camp ground. 10 dollars per fisherman. Camp Huaco springs is free to park for trout fishermen. And the canyon dam is free to park. Thanks

You killed it! I was there today with my kids, same exact spot, we were catching back to back but no keepers. Next time we’ll go to Camp Huaco since that part of the river has no size limit, did you lose your pliers 😂? We found a pair just like yours.

I want to try to get some of these rainbow trout but can you point me in the right direction where to park. I don’t have any waders but I’m willing to stand somewhat inside to fish as long as I’m not fully submerged. Even if my feet are just in the water is fine

Camp Huaco Springs free to trout fisherman for parking or Lazy L & L charges 10 dollars per person off River Rd, New Braunfels, TX . Or you can try canyon lake dam free parking. But the season is ending soon to catch them. They will be dying off once the hot weather comes. Very few will make it over the summer for next cold season until next stocking. Get out there asap. 👊🏽

Thanks Near the Canyon Lake Dam about 2 miles down river. Every Friday they have been releasing 800 to 900 pounds of fish is what I was told. The Canyon Lake Dam has been on fire too!

From the Canyon Dam on the right side you can walk the bank for a pretty long way. Or you can wade walking and fishing for a great day of catching there.

Just depends on the section of the river. Some parts you can keep 5 any size and some part you can only keep one 18 inches and over. The map is on Texas parks and wildlife

@@fishing2real trout unlimited (the local chapter who pay for and stock the big “trophy” fish in that stretch) discourage treble hooks. Part of joining TU means you agree to not use trebles. Generally speaking, trebles increase the chance of foul hooking, tearing up their mouth and significantly decrease their chances of surviving over the summer. Bass and Reds can take that kind of stress. Now you know.
