Popped the roast in the oven, and another great video to keep me occupied for a spell. Merry Christmas to you and the family Rob, and here's to another season of salmon fishing when it comes.

Merry Christmas Rob. Another good video. I fish a small river in North Wales and catching trees is one of the hazards, and very frustrating! I'd tend to use my 10' single handed rod for a river that small.

All the best John, I wouldn't mind a 10 7wt as it happens and have half an eye out for one.

Happy Christmas Rob. Best wishes to you and yours. Another enjoyable video to round the year off. Looking forward to seeing how you get on next season. I'm inspired to explore more of the Coquet next season and have a new toy to try out on the bigger water. Need to learn to cast the flippin' thing properly though! A couple of months of fly tying first. Hope to see you about on the bank in the New Year.

Seasons greetings and all the best Brian. Bigger rod = equals bigger fish? If so I like you're thinking.

Happy Xmas Rob, great to see you catch a lovely salmon, and of course your stollen looks fabulous. Smoked sea trout is superb, great to see your method of hot smoking it too. Seems like there were a few more salmon around this year, so tight lines and all the best of luck in 2025,cheers Peter.

I used to fish that stretch and other high stretches in Weardale and always had the same problem, bloody leaves. Still, at least you’re out. Thank you for all your videos this year I’ve enjoyed them tremendously. P.S. looking through your old videos, what happened to the boat? Best wishes for the new year.
@abakerslife16 күн бұрын
Many thanks and seasons greetings to you too. The boat is still about I just have it stored on land for now. I'm planning on using it for a weeks holiday next year but since I became a born again salmon fisherman I haven't had much use for it.

3.36k subs, we should add a zero somewhere, please be careful smoking food with chainsaw chips, they'll be full of oil from the blade... merry xmas Rob 👍

Cheers and all the best. I never thought about the oil tbh but that does make sense. Time to start using olive oil in the chainsaw!

I can not believe how long tge leaves have stayeg on yhe trees this year! Deciduous trees will sone become Ferrous trees and in spring just shed old leaves as new grows! Id be divorced if i went fishing, over xmas. Younlucky bugger!
@abakerslife16 күн бұрын
Well that was filmed at the end of October so the trees are looking decidedly less leafy now. I'm not married so luckily divorce is not on the cards so I can fish to my hearts content. All the best
