I used to catch lots of shrimp in Florida in November. My best throw caught 26. The years that had red tide during summer were best, there were very few little fish around for bait and the shrimp got thick. I caught them from a seawall usually, with water from 6" to 3" or so. You might want to use more chum and wait longer until you toss the net. That could concentrate them better for you. I liked a long seawall so I could walk the length throwing and if I started over from the beginning there was time for shrimp to come back.

I see you've got a 150 Whaler.. I have the same boat. During the Fall, I motor around in shallow grassy inlets looking for the large troops of shrimp as they move down into the bay. Basically, I just putt around until I spook them into jumping on the surface. By the time they're jumping, I'm close enough to cast. On one trip last Sept, I managed to net 20lbs worth in about an hour. This was down near the mouth of the James River.

Yes, love the 15’ Whaler! Had it a long time now and no plans to get rid of it! Nice work on the shrimp!!!

Drop the shrimp bait down and wait for a hour before throwing your net on it once, move to the next one, the next, the next, etc. You don't want to throw over where you placed your bait but once every hour, after 3 or 4 times the bait will be gone.

I live in Willoughby spit in Norfolk VA. I got the Chesapeake bay on one side and Willoughby bay on the other. I wonder if I can catch them out here.

He is at the west point boat landing . Only problem is your not suppose to fish from that dock it’s for boats. The fishing pier is right next to the boat dock
