Can't wait to see it come together! TBH I've always heard not to bolt machines to the concrete floor at all but I've never tried it myself so can't speak with personal experience

I am quite certain that for this type of lathe bed installation manuals suggest concrete foundation, with studs in it. Bed is to be bolted an leveled some distance (10 or so cm) above level of concrete. Then concrete is to be poured on top of foundation - flush with lathe castings. I am positive that manuals, written by manufacturers/designers? of given equipment, suggest this mounting solution.

I would just put some steel blocks under the feet and bolt down the lathe rather than have it suspended as it is right now. you can shim it to level. As it stands is nowhere rigid enough and if you create a concrete footing will work, however not just pouring on top but rather bolt to it so the feet are secured and not floating.

I would certainly not leave it sitting up on nuts on the studs like that. I would at least make stands for it to sit on. I don't know that the concrete bedding is necessary though.

If the concrete is very thick and is not moving very much, best solution would maybe be to set some molds up under the lathe and pour there a nice slab of leveling concrete. After that it should pretty much stay where it is

I would make some steel jacks , like machinist jack. near the screws, 60-80mm diameter , for extra rigidity. The concrete, will work fine to . It will not shrink , if you pure 10 mm higher. I have one lathe whit concrete like dis , but i have moved my lathe now and the concrete is in the way

agreed on jacks, to super the rest of the machine so the little ears don't break off

douchebagnumero1 The ears won't brake . the problems is that the screw is 100 mm long , and that can vibrate.
