Yeah, she had no idea what he meant when he said "this camera, this camera or this camera". She hasn't seen the show before. I think these high profile guests should have someone give them a quick explanation... or at least watch an episode first. I am surprised she or any famous person would do this if they didn't know what to expect. And yes, I wonder what she wrote on her hand!

Tbh you can see it in her characters too. Galadriel showed power and strength beyond comprehension and yet she comforted Frodo when he was in doubt and Gandalf about Bilbo. Hela had a sense of humor so it helped too.

I was always a huge fan of hers, but “The curious case of Benjamin Button” is when she literally blew my mind. I’m ADHD and that film is THREE HOURS LONG, and I went to see it in the theater THREE TIMES. For me, that is a nearly impossible feat, but I was just so mesmerized by her. Benjamin Button could have been played by probably dozens of different actors, Taraji and Cate are what was memorable about that film for me!! She gets more beautiful every day, she just radiates such joy and warmth!!

I feel like people would call me crazy but I GENUINELY feel like she's one of the most elegant, capable, distinguished (and regal in some odd way) people we can see amongst celebs. What I really want to know, from Kate (I hope she's reading the comments or her kids are) is why Bono of U2 dedicated a part of a U2 song to her during a Sydney concert on November 11, 2006. The band had just finished playing 80% of their song 'Kite' when out of nowhere, Bono yelps "This is for Kate Blanchette" and the Edge proceeds to play not only an extremely rare guitar solo but a second, extended solo during that particular song, effectively doubling the length of the song to 8-9 minutes. Then they added a bunch of didgeridoos over the song's outro. What I want to know is what did Kate ask of the band? Did she ask "Hey Edge, I know you never do guitar solos but I love your playing so much would you play me a special extended solo during my favorite song, Kite?" And U2 then did it? It's such a weird specific change to the song in such a rarity that Edge plays solos, that it must have been what you asked... which means she is a huge U2 nerd. This is what I want to know and since the band released it as a b-side to a single, it'd be nice to have that information public. BTW... you can find the song on KZbin by searching for "Kite live Sydney 2006". It's the long version.

Gotta love Cate Blanchett. Didn’t realize she was so cool and down to earth. She’s just such a cool and elegant soul.

I love how many of the liked comments begin with “I love”… Cate is a class act and a national treasure. “We love” her as Australians, so proud to call her one of our own. She’s good people

The thing I've always admired about Cate is the fact that she always seems genuinely invested in a conversation. Listening to her or rather her voice is so therapeutic. Love her ❤️

It's so neat that she is such a regular, enjoyable person in real life given what an absolute tour de force she is as an actor. Like seriously, by award count, this is the most prestigious guest Hot Ones has had.

Cate's magnetism is so hard to put into words. Easily one of your best guests, and the composure through the hottest sauces was impressive.

I honestly loved how for one or two of the earlier wings it was like she was interviewing him. I think it shows how truly engaged she was, and genuinely wanted to know more about him and his own story. What a great episode!

On top of her top tier talent as an actress, it's admirable seeing Cate Blanchett being invested on each conversation and the person she conversed with. Classy, amazing artist, yet loveable in person!

I haven't fully watched every episode but I FEEL like it's really rare when Sean has to answer a question about his own success to a guest. Cate is great!

I near cried watching this I am just in awe of this woman. She’s so well spoken and humble, she’s literally interviewing Sean and providing these extremely detailed answers.
