I like how you’re being sorry to the car that you haven’t driven her in 4 days. You’re a real car guy. Having one of these is definitely on my list of life goals.

Nice car selection. When I built my V8 swapped NA miata, I also considered a Caterham. I went in favor of the roughly the same power to weight ratio with better weather protection. But it's not as light as a Caterham.

Dual DCOE’s? The ones on my X1/9 had a cold start valve that worked pretty well. My homebuilt 7 ( Volvo Redblock with 150HP) is injected. Fires right up after sitting a month.

What year and model is this ? Love it !

Is it a carbed car? You can give it some more pumps of gas before cranking, it might start easier. Also idling may not be the best way to warm the engine up, better just drive it right away. Realy nice video, I love the raw sounds, this is what driving is all about

@@Yumbutteredsausage have you read my comment carefully? My advice was to give a few extra pumps before starting. This way the accelerator pump will spray more fuel making it easier to start the car. Idle warming your car is only a good idea when you have a carburetor in a cold winter.

how about silencing the exhaust to what is acceptable to the driver....so there will be no need for a hearing protection :D

It is not the exhaust. It is the wind.

1974 for the S3, a year after when Colin Chapman signed over the rights to Caterham Cars Ltd.

Am i right in thinking you have a Ford BDA engine in there? I always found with my 2.0 Ford Pinto (UK pinto not USA pinto) that 3 long slow presses to the floor of the throttle pedal, then WAIT about 30 seconds to a minute, always fired up 1st time and quickly, no long cracking over like in your case here. Maybe give it a go, nothing to lose.

Lovely Seven you have there! Do you find the spare tire to impede on getting the poppers done for the roof or trunk cover? Or do you need to remove the spare to get the roof on?
@jcerier2 жыл бұрын
I have a higher, track oriented roll bar on it, so I don't fit the roof to the car. No problem at all snapping the boot cover on with the spare tire in place.

Waste of gas and also letting it idle when cold will create premature wear. Far better to drive at lowish revs and let it warm quicker.

Please do not press the clutch when starting because it is not good for the axial crank bearings and the crankshaft ( no oil pressure during starting ).
