Fuel consumption, material retention and bucket filling as well bucket size , cycle time , parts availability in remote area , easy financing , better resale value (low ownership cost) and etc... all goes to CAT , so definitely no comparison here , I would get a PC500 atleast to have some sense in a comparison with CAT 349F

Not sure how you calculate your numbers. But every time we put a EC480 up against a Cat 349 or 352 they tell us the Volvo hands down was better on fuel, way more stable, and a built a lot more solidly. Cat makes a good machine. But to many people are obsessed with the name and overlook the major issues the machines have and Cat doesn’t care to fix.

@@aaroncoleman8829 I did calculate it having a demonstration for both on site as well if you refer to performance handbook for both excavators . see ,you would easily get trusted if you are (supported ) look at Toyota in cars whatever they design it becomes best seller because people knows the durability of there cars , CAT are the guys whom 'invented' tracks movement (there parent companies), as well just have a look on Volvo product line of excavators and CAT one,and you would definitely thru Volvo away, in numbers I would love help you have look on fuel table from volvo and CAT books 📚 😉 😀 😄 😊 . VOLVO is a good company but compare it in wheel loaders dince there loaders are okay but if you want an apple to apple comparison in HEX, then compare it with doosan or kobelco but definitely not with CAT !

I prefer to not look at a manufacturers own created fuel table data. It’s pretty easy to sway that data to say what you want. Kinda like 3 out of 4 operators prefer Sany excavators over Cat. We both know 4 out of 4 would prefer Cat. But if you manipulate the data you can make that a true claim. I know the which manufacturer is better battle will never have a winning side. We each have our own opinions. I just know I was a solid Cat koolaid drinker. Now that I have stopped just listening to Cat talking about how every other manufacturer is trash and opened my eyes to what is truly in the construction world I have learned that Cat is not the best in almost every line they make. They are right up at the top. But not the best. What set them apart in the past was their parts and service and strong dealer network to keep the machine running. They still have a strong dealer network with good service technicians. Parts strength is wavering pretty hard these days.

@@aaroncoleman8829 not sure for what you are referring to, but I was saying that you may referring to fuel tables that came from each manufacturer Performance handbook , these numbers are observed from machines worldwide and can't be manipulated (at least for komatsu, Volvo and CAT) as there under supervision from international institutes that would catch any abnormal numbers however even though, CAT numbers are much better. If you had an issue with CAT dealer or parts quality you can't generalise that everywhere, people here is having reman parts ONLY from CAT , other manufacturers don't care about getting that for customers, CAT came out with new brand for parts called Yellow Marks to even compete with duplicate parts and makes it possible for customer budget buy everything from one shop , CAT is investing much much more than others in parts and aftersales and I wittiness that by my self . As conclusion the only company which I feel is worthy to compare with CAT in everything is john deere (quality and support wise ) but only in US 🇺🇸

Volvo makes a great machine! Ackerman and Samsung excavator tech with Volvo resources! Also Cat is really nice and is know for support network like volvo. I love Komatsu and dollar to dollar they are fantastic! Doosan seems to be making solid machines for the money as well. Kobelco seems to be falling behind nowadays. Deere makes an awesome machine too! In this size I would take a hard look at liebehr!!!!! Like I hate when people act like a top tier machine vs other top tier machine in same weight class has clear cut superior choice. Local dealer support is key! Otherwise see what you like and why you like it. Why do you think we see all these different brands machines owned by successful companies with high IQ owners and not just 1 brand out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

@@heeeeeeeyyyyyyyyy for me the top favourite is Huddig, but that's a "backhoe". But the Huddig is an incredible machine to operate. Other than that I prefer Volvo, operated Hitachi, Doosan, Kobelco, CAT and JCB. But in all honesty there's not that much difference and I started on Volvo so that's probably why. Doosan was a really nice machine but the joystick travel in the original was a bit too long for my liking.

No is not. Volvo much better allways been nr 1 better quality and moore power and realiable. Infact the worlds first hydralic excavator came from norway name was brøyt and was the first one with hydralics then the others got wires they where the best from the 50's to the 70's then Japan and usa got the overhand in the market . Volvo took over in the 90's for real,its just like cars us cars where the best in the 50's to 70' now its not good cars in us and now its Volvo and europe and Japan even china makes a lot better cars then usa now thats was the time America was great ..

Mno, nevím co je k porovnání na výjezdu na hromadu písku, navíc když jede každý jinou cestou... Co mě ale fascinuje jak je ten CAT domrdaný, závaží odřené až do půlky a ty vůle v čepech a vložkách až hnus, otázkou je kolik má natočených mth a jestli překládá jenom ten písek nebo i těží ale i tak to asi svědčí o kvalitě zpracování, no a že strojník (strojníci) co na tom sedí by měli přijít o práci už dávno protože nechat to dojít do tohohle stavu je fakt ostuda...

That’s not true, Volvo CE is Swedish owned. In 1998 they bought out Samsung Heavy Industries in Korea to gain a foothold in the Korean market, then built manufacturing plants in Korea. Volvo cars, however, are Chinese owned owned now, but they are two completely seperate companies.
