I forget which model, but I had a 60 ton bucket loader break hydraulic line and drop it's load on the tail of my 120 ton Lectra Haul in 1981 as backing under. It brought my front wheels 6+ feet off the ground three times as it scooted out from under the load crushing the bed to the ground. I bounced off the cab ceiling every time loosing my hard-hat the third time, it was quite an ordeal. The loader driver was shaken even more than I was. I believe the loader was the biggest made at that time working at a open-pit phosphate mine is southern Idaho.
@Cosigner226 жыл бұрын
I've operated a 992G front end loader and it was nothing short of impressive. VERY powerful and the adjustable torque converter was pretty cool too. If you pull into a rock pile and spin a wheel you will rip off chunks of rubber bigger than a lazyboy recliner or even a couch. If I remember correctly it held just under 400 gal of fuel. That big rear bumper/counter weight is also the fuel tank. I've lifted boulders that were so heavy that I had to walk it on just the front two wheels due to the rear being in the air. Literally TONS of fun!
@oliver_klozoff5 жыл бұрын
Impressive since my 988b and f models lift 32 tons of logs fairly easily. Lots of counterweight though and anything over 32 ton and im doing the front axle rodeo. I cant imagine a 992 worh the rear axle off the ground.
@C-645 жыл бұрын
You guys are lucky I’ll probably never drive anything like that Too much vehicle for me.
@BairdRayburne5 жыл бұрын
I'm willing to bet the fuel tank is quite a bit more then 400 gals. Probably 1100 as 400 gals wouldn't make it one 12 hr shift and fueling is down time. Our Letourneau 1850 holds over 1000 gals and our two 1250's hold about 900 gals. I will have to look into the rear push beam( bumper) holding fuel. That would be stupid for a manufacturer to do. Letourneau puts them under the engine.
@oliver_klozoff5 жыл бұрын
@@BairdRayburne my 988 only holds 175 gallons. It barely makes it past the 13 hour mark though. That 3408 is thirsty. My fuel tank is on the side though. I can't see a 992 needing more than 400 gallons for a 12 hour shift though.

Noooooo never put heat to tires or rims. That how people kill themselves. These tires are filled to about 105 PSI and a good compressor can fill one in about 45 mins. It's a lot of volume. Heat can cause an internal fire and heaven/ hell is your next stop when they blow. So never put heat to a tire, rin, lug nut or hub with a tire on the hub. And if lightning strikes equipment evacuate the area and keep everyone away for 24 hrs.

David F I used to work on a mine years ago and we had a few of these beasts. The tyres had a small amount of alfloc ( green engine coolant) in them to let you know if it was compromised. The rule was stop the machine and get as far away as you can. In the workshop we'd take the valve out and it would take about two hours to empty the tyre of air.
@benconway90106 жыл бұрын

I thought the 990 was big. I worked at a rock quarry for a year driving a 50 ton capacity dump truck and they could load it in 3 scoops with the 990. The Hydraulic lines were huge.

stencil plus been a while but I recall seeing a large Dozer. I think they feature a bucket wheel excavator that looks basically like the Krupp machine in Germany. Presumably the haul trucks are loaded by wheel loaders such as this one.

You wouldn’t even be 10mm after this ran over you let alone 10cm! In fact the wheel would still be touching the floor! I remember of a fairly large crane running over a kid some years back and even on that the wheel was still flush with the ground so this definitely would be! Theres probably enough weight in 1 wheel alone rolling over you to flatten you beyond 10mm without even needing to be attached to the whole dumper truck! As for dragging a house, if you live in a caravan then yes, if it’s an actual house then no, however it would pull whatever you have attached to the house or wrapped around the house, through the house or off the house no problem at all! But if you wrapped a steel cable around a house it would just tear the cable through the house not drag the house! The house would lose though!

Fred Larsen C. Dumb and lazy because we convinced the entire world to believe in a new system of measurement? Lazy is somebody asking for specifics on a video in measurement they don't know instead of doing the conversions themselves which is easy with the help of the internet. Also a bunch of Americans also know both metric scales. So fuck you and your definition of laziness. *insert image of bald eagle in front of the US flag holding a high powered rifle*.
