It means, every 1000 hrs or 1500 hrs, the boat has to be sent back to the builder for renewal engines update service or they can come to us to handle the job, means we have to be setup for tools too. Mechanics, Wood work, Fiberglass, Marine Electrical needs, Copper tools.

You guys should build a V16 version of the C32B. With about 3000 hp it would be the engine of choice for many of the large sportfishers.

The problem with that is ....weight ..... the C32B 2400 weights about 6780lbs without a transmission ...a V16 version would be around 8600lbs ....which is 1000 lbs heavier then MTU 16-V2000 M96L's ...do the math

@@ThePaulpope ok, as per your request, I did the math. The 16V200M96L puts out 2635 hp and weighs 7606 lbs. giving a power to weight ratio of 0.346 hp/lb. I would assert that a V16 version of a C32B would put out at least 3000 hp but perhaps as much as 3200 hp. Going with your weight estimate of 8600 lbs that gives a power to weight ratio of 0.349 hp/lb to 0.372 hp/lb. I would contend that the heavier Cat engine could still be advantageous. In addition, a buyer, especially an American buyer, might be happy to go with the heavier domestic Cat engines.

@@mikehermesmeglio The current 12V C32B is already larger than the MTU 16V, and is still the same clunky, loud, sluggish, unit injection engine with are archaic turbo control system. And tell me how many are out there running... Still waiting... Bottom line, they don't work.
