Billy is great at writing the riffs.
@NosajKnows8 жыл бұрын
What are you two talking about? Like I literally have no idea haha
@juliebb48448 жыл бұрын
Nosaj this video features Billy Bibby on lead guitar. He was replaced by Johnny Bond aka Bondy in August 2014. So that's what we're talking about. Their guitar playing approach is different but the point here is Billy is not just playing that riff, he wrote it. Bondy is psychedelic and fuzzy, Billy is more melodic. Billy is now frontman of his own band Billy Bibby & The Wry Smiles founded in autumn of 2015. Fantastic songwriter, great voice. www.nme.com/news/catfish-the-bottlemen/94378

Just me who prefers Bondy?
@elliotnott62817 жыл бұрын
Iest123 oh shut up bibby was great, but he doesn't rock as half as hard as bond does, the solos and lead parts bondy makes are 10 times better than what bibby could of done
@elliotnott62817 жыл бұрын
Iest123 I went to see them in Coventry a few weeks ago, and you're right but with all due respect the only riff that the crowd 'sings along too' is pacifier, that is all, the riffs and guitar are just way more complex and overall better in the ride than the balcony, can you even imagine billy writing the anything solo, the postpone solo, the twice solo, no, bondy is just a better guitarist
@elliotnott62817 жыл бұрын
Iest123 1. Learn where places are, Coventry is no where near London, I've also seen crowds, and how can crowds sing to cocoon it's the same chord for the first bit, don't get me wrong it's a sick song but I don't get it, Billy is a simple guitarist which you know I respect, yeah it sounded good but was boring to play, it's all just single notes with bibby, he's just a boring guitarist, where with bondy he mixes it up, and like I said rocks 10 times harder than bibby does
@elliotnott62817 жыл бұрын
Iest123 I'm not saying billy is a bad guitarist I'm saying he's a boring one, and when I say 'rocks harder' I mean bondy is more big whacky sounds and solos and is more rock n roll where as billy is just another generic guitarist
@includox7 жыл бұрын
I agree with you lest123, Bondy is soulless in his guitar playing and he makes shambles out of The Balcony. The riffs in the Balcony are timeless and do stick with you. Elliot when you are talking about the Anything solo you do realise that it is a very simple solo just hidden behind a flanger/phaser and heavy distortion? Not that hard at all! I have been to 13 gigs and the songs from The Balcony are the ones that stand out.

Jack Hamilton I'll admit the instrumentals are very similar. The Catfish track is faster paced and has it's on melody. I wouldn't call it a rip off, but I would say that alive inspired this song.

@larahindhaugh18077 жыл бұрын
andy webster. It has been proven that you can play so many songs using the same 4 chords, you can do the same with loads of chords and tbh there is only so many chord progressions u can put together but anyways thats your opinion ☺
