I was raised that we couldn't eat cat fish. I was told they were garbage fish...but I tried one as an adult and enjoyed the flavor! Glad you all had fun!!!

Haven't been there in years but recognized the dam before the sign. Brought back lots of memories. We ate a lot of crappie and catfish out of the lake. We grew up on Nimrod lake and slid down the hill by the dam more than once. We had a cabin at the junction near the dam. Looks like you fished at Cardin Point. We kids walked to Quarry Cove to swim back when kids could walk and swim alone.

Looks like you guys had a great time hanging out with Cole and you even got a lot of nice looking fish! It's always better when you don't have to cook it because you can just enjoy it. I always like watching the catch clean and cook videos. I have to get out to the lake and catch some fish this summer. Looking forward to spending some time at our camp with family and friends this summer because it will be gone before we know it.

I've been watching more, and more videos where people are using multi-hook trout lines to catch catfish. Looks like a great way to catfish. Previously, I have never saw trout lines used as catfishing rigs. Pool nootles, single bouy hooks, or tying to tree limbs I've saw used here in my area. Even crabbing, I've saw trout lines used to catch a multitude of crabs. Great video! Be safe, and catch you at the next video.

Last time I ran lines we had 4 out with 10 hooks each and caught 152 fish in 2 days running the 4 times both days. We threw back several under 2 lbs and froze enough fish for the next year.

Yum, love to eat catfish fresh out of the lake. Setting trot lines are fun when you come to check it and have those nice large catfish on it. Cole really knows how to work that rod n reel. It’s an art for sure. More fun. Houston will always remember these times.

That was an awesome video. Last time I went out on a boat fishing I must’ve been only 10 years old down in Mexico deep-sea fishing. We caught Yellow tail and Barracuda. It was an experience and of course I never forgo it. You’re a very lucky kid Houston and blessed to have a dad that can take you on these trips and show you what nature in the great outdoors offers you. Blessings Daniel and to you to Houston. Houston, when I was learning to play golf, my dad used to tease me when I 'topped' the ball. His famous words would be, 'keep your head down dummy!' Eventually, I became a whole lot better if I remembered those words. Seriously, those catfish where amazing! I would have loved to catch one of tthose on my Ugly Stick! That sunset takes me back to my 20's when I fished on the Zambezi river in Namibia. I lived there for 7ys & the memories are great. We didn't eat the catfish though...they tasted like muddy bottom feeders😅😊

Hi Cole and Arms men. Since the trees are so close to each other why don't you just run some trot lines. There was a time (almost 40yrs ago now) when I used to run a line back and forth across a small river of about 150 hooks. Man could we ever bring a load of catfish in to fill a few freezers. Best time I ever had! Good luck on your lines.

Absolutely fantastic! So much fun! Congratulations Houston. People that do not eat catfish leave more for me! We had a restaurant in Florida where they always had catfish and you brought your own drinks. Yum, yum, yum. And as a kid we always had a fish camp. Talk about good food. I also grew up on a spring fed lake. I never knew you had to actually buy a fishing license until I moved away from Florida. Houston you have to kiss the bait to catch the best and biggest fish.
