I had a sucker mouth catfish for the past 2 years. I had made a deal with the local pet store that he would take the fish back come winter, a repay me with a smaller one come spring. Honestly I have to say… my pond had much less algae on the bottom & sides. We observed the fish coming out at night. I will say my son had a challenge trying to catch it come fall!!! I totally trust your opinions, but I can’t explain my experience 🤷‍♂️ I’m gonna hold off on getting another one for now😊 Many thanks❣️

I bet the fish you're talking about is not actually a catfish, it sounds more like a pleco which will not survive in the pond over winter because it is more of a tropical fish. That is what is very common in fish tanks you often see them sucking on the side of the glass. I had a client in Spring Lake that had to they were kind of black and brown but they actually are more related to a pleco than a normal catfish

@@jerseyshorepondscapesvideos Yes it was a Pleco!!! He did a great job!!! My 1st winter I brought him indoors to a 30 gallon tank! A hassle & extra added expense! Thanks for your response😊
