I ain’t a Catfisherman..I’m a West Coast Salmon and Steelhead fisherman…but I enjoy the hell out of your videos, and watch every new post..they’re entertaining, non pretentious and you tell the viewers what baits work, and why they don’t..I respect that and your honesty…my question is, why do you pull on some fish, and reel down on others, when the bite looks to be the same…?

I like the barge fish comment Dave, up here in Port Huron Michigan, we fish for walleye on the St. Clair River, where it connects to Lake Huron, and when the big lake freighters come through, we usually get hits, and we call them freighter fish. And they can be anything from a walleye to a smallmouth bass, to a giant northern pile.

I met Catfish Dave the morning he shot this video at the boat launch. He told us about the rock pile and the catfish fowling up his net and then took pictures with us. Very nice guy. He's the same on and off camera.

Come to Watauga lake in Hampton tn and see if you can conjure up some big flatheads. Ive caught several but nothing over 30 lbs. There are some giants in that little lake.

Dave, you should get a polarized lens for your new camera brother. When the sun is in the picture it looks as if there’s a UFO in the shots radiating from the sun downward. Don’t know if you’ve noticed while editing but that lens cap would eliminate the optical illusion.😊 You’re welcome. 🙇‍♂️

Did you ever chum? I got the idea over seas. Bought frozen sardines. Broke up in bucket . Put in a cup or two of powdered soap. Scum out a slick. Pieces fall out of the soap slick slow. Draws in bait fish and big ones. I used a hand crank meat grinder. It works. It will get you some action. Papa san mashed up fozen sardines with an axe.
