Catharsis draws heavily from Strapping Young Lad - era ‪@dvntownsend‬. The song's nonlinear structure and frantic riffing carries feelings of both restlessness and liberation. It's a ton of fun to play on guitar as well, which is also something that is implied by the title. Thematically, the song is placed after Torn, during which an important but difficult decision was taken. Catharsis embodies the feelings of liberation but also emotional turmoil that can follow such life-altering events.
ORACLE is a multifaceted modern instrumental metal album that deals with themes of self-doubt, insecurity, and depression, but also healing and overcoming. A precise chaos, inspired musically by modern and classic metal acts such as Metallica, Keith Merrow, Tool, Meshuggah, Periphery, Dream Theater, Devin Townsend, and many more. In fact, each of the tracks contains a nod to one or some of my favorite artists.
