Masters of The Night Wind is one of the 6 tribes is natlan and the music there is my favorite. As an Indonesian, my ears perked up at the first track. It does sound like gamelan and angklung. I may be mistaken though, but if I'm right, then natlan is based on the irl ring of fire. It'd be very fitting. Also, some people said that the blueish aura on the building reminds them of the blue fire of Mount ijen in Indonesia. I can see that.

Natlan culture is mexicah/mayan (most of it) as the names of the tribes are old mayan,aztec and some came from the incas on the south in peruain territory an also some south u.s.a culture,that blueish aura is what means Xibalba and Mictlan aka the "underworld" of both mexicah and mayan culture as they use obsidian colours mostly blue/black mixing purple for rituals,painting,sacrifies and sacred ceremonies. the original language CN call the underworld "Mictlan" as well so we can say the master of the night are based of mexicah and mayan cultures that lead to modern "day of the death" celebration in mexico as its part of Mictlan stories of how a soul travel the river (Mictlan) before can be reborn in a new soul on the universe ofc my knowledge of precolombian its limited but most of the names,places,weapons and even gods are easy to spot for me since im a mexican so Natlan is based on precolombian cultures who get mixed with african,europeans and asia cultures that lead to modern center-south america, fun fact~ Citlali was the goddess of stars and milky way for the aztec (mexicah) tribe and her complete name is Citlalicue :3 hope this help a little to spot the cultures of Natlan and have a good day/night~

it is inspired by ring of fire, it covers almost everything in the ring of fire tectonic belt from the names, location names, gods names, to actual visualization and the soundscapes of each tribe like how People of The Springs are more Hawaiian kinda type, and Flower Feather Clan are more Western and Masters of the Night Wind is Indonesia u get the point, if u look around the game, read, and also listen to the tracks and understand the real life references/inspiration for it. It's definitely the most diverse region in the whole entire game in terms of cultural inspiration and all these cultures are mostly based from the ring of fire regions.

Thank you very much for reacting to them! It's so cool hearing about your knowledge on different instruments as well. I really hope more people get to hear these OSTs so we can learn more about the instruments that are used that isnt typically shown to us-- and you're trailblazing it! Keep it up dude! I hope more of Natlan's OSTs will continue to fuel that passion even more-- do keep being nerdy and dorky on the technical stuffs, it's really interesting! ✨

If you're curious what kind of music we can expect in the future, we know for sure that Natlan will have at least two more areas before summer of 2025. After that, there will be a year of Slavic / Eastern European music (think of the Tetris theme) and then a year of Nordic / Scandinavian music (recent examples: God of War / Game of Thrones). There's also going to be at least a couple smaller updates: one for their Chinese region and another for Western European / German region with their respective music as well.

Yeap, we are still in Natlan. This region has 6 different tribes which of them having own theme. We got 5 already (two of them 3 weeks ago). Masters of the Night Wind, one of them, are about spirits, souls and after-life things. Genshin drops new regions around August-September, in between they may expand previous regions.

That instrument on the music come from Indonesia. I guess its part of gamelan but i dont know which one. Some people said there are angklung too but im also still waiting for the credit and more information. Its kinda rare to had music in this style.

I mentioned SEA as a possible influence a few times but cut it all out because the kalimba is African and figured that'd still be the source. It's weird being right but wrong 💀

Credits don’t guarantee accurate instrument information - there are a lot of instruments that can be heard and even seen in the music videos that aren’t credited in the soundtrack, like mbira, balafon, didgeridoo and dunun which are never credited. Unfortunately, that often leaves us guessing what instruments are actually there. Angklung is a safe guess because the rattling bamboo sound at the beginning and end of the track is very recognizable. Other than that, hard to say.

The official album containing these tracks just released today. The name of the first track is called *Soothing of Soul and Sand* and was composed by Yuxi Wang. The second track is named *A Fragment of Night* and was composed by Ziyu Che.

I got it now, Natlan is based on the regions of the Ring of Fire, with each tribes representing those regions. Except Mualani's tribe is based on Hawaii which isn't a Ring of Fire region but its location is in the middle of it. So Masters of the Night Wind is probably based on Indonesia, since the ost uses Indonesian instrument AND its people's job is quite similar to Dukun
@Sheevlord18 күн бұрын
There are two regions left still - Snezhnaya (based on Russia), and Khaenri'ah (probably based on old Germanic myths about underground dwarven kingdoms)

Natlan has 6 tribes and an ancient city and the volcano will probably also have a unique theme when it is released These OSTs belong to one of the two new tribes that were recently launched, this tribe in question has a culture of shamans who have a connection with the night kingdom/realm of the dead and communicate with spirits

Hey I've got a VERY juicy and interesting listen when it comes to genshin due to its nature. Its essentially both a genshin song and also not. The song is called floating life and wasn't made for genshin originally but once Yu Peng Chen had began working on genshin's OST he had essentially found a new place to use the melody but without the vocals and with slight alterations (more strings in final version if my ear is right). Here's the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kH3Ko5-NnK93ia8 In-game it plays during Ayaka's dance and is even played during her mini animation you reacted to a while back when her and her brother Ayato were sparring. So technically the OST has 3 different versions. 1) Dance cutscene. 2) Ayaka holding onto the memory of her mother. 3) In this version it was for a chinese drama I believe. Edit: There is a pinned comment on the video explaining abit more, its in chinese but youtube should have a translate button for you.

Another example is "Moon in a Cup", a song he wrote (and sang together with Yin Lin, a Chinese female singer) in 2018. The chorus from that song became Liyue's "Moon in a Cup" OST.
