Thanks! I do too - I really don’t mind long haul in economy - there’s some pretty good economy seats in the Middle East and Asia carriers. US airline long haul has a ways to go ahah

I won't fly Cathay Pacific again. I've flown with them quite a few times in the past unfortunately, in February 2023, they refused to allow me to change my flight for compassionate reasons. I was going to fly to Singapore frim Vancouver to see my terminally brother but he passed away earlier than expected. Cathay wanted to charge $1,000 for an earlier flight. Cathay won't be making any more money from me!

I'll be flying BOS>HKG next weekend on the A350-1000. What aircraft were you on? I hear the A350 is "better" than the B777. How was the wifi onboard? Usually on any plane having 300 people share one internet connection is comically laughable, at best to the point of not being worth the $20.

I was on the a350 - WiFi on board to be honest was slow but useable if you had patience. Is it worth the $20 - IMO probably not at least for me. I think a350 is better - generally I’ve had smoother rides on the 350 - I think there is more cabin room. Have a great flight!

@@MikeLikesToTravel Thanks! Do the economy seats recline? If so, I'm thinking using my laptop won't work at that point due to the cramptness. At some point in my life, I'll get a business class seat on these uber-long flights But the extra $5,000 costs more than my whole trip to Vietnam. Dare to dream.

You must try the business of Cathay Pacific for one time, but currently it's not a good choice since the ticket price become so much higher after the pandemic. I miss the days several years ago. It only cost about 400-500 US dollars to get a single ticket across the pacific. All the good days had gone

Done economy from Heathrow to Hong Kong and back in November 2022, felt so crammed in even sitting aisle seat, I promised my self on way back never to go economy for that long route ever again 😂 their premium economy is good I used it couple times for same route, but I found they have now got greedy, I been using Swiss going business class as it similar price or even less sometimes than Cathay premium economy, admittedly it is abit extra time as have to connect in Zurich but only about an hour or so.

You’re totally right - Cathay greatly raised their prices especially in the premium cabins post 2020. I’ve also found better deals for business on Qatar and Finnair - haven’t tried Swiss yet but would like to!

Just out of pure curiosity, what would’ve been the difference in price from business to economy in this case 3K 4K 5K?

I hope he still continues to do at least some vlogs on economy. Sick of some vloggers who think economy is too low for them. Some of us can't afford business or first class.
