I’ve been looking for an easy cathedral window - love this technique. I’ve also been wanting to practice my machine quilting techniques and this will be perfect. I can do different designs in each of the windows. Also, I think I will cut the batting the square size and glue baste it in. This way, it will reduce the bulk of the fold over portion and make it easier to pink the edges. Brilliant idea to use pinking shears for those circles!

You are the sweetest. I started one the old fashioned way and haven’t finished it. I will try your instructions with the sewing machine. Thank you.

I love your quilt. Thank you for sharing and for the video. I hope to try this at some time. Is there an actual pattern using this method?
@redpinequiltshop9573 Жыл бұрын
Not that I know of. The technique has just been out there for awhile and you can decide how large a quilt you want to make by the number of circles you use in your rows and columns

Wow! Now I might actually try to make a cathedral quilt using your method! Can you tell me the name of the quilt pattern for bright quilt hanging behind you with the black background?

Glad you enjoyed the tutorial! The quilt in the background is called Star Blast and we have kits available for it. Here's a link. www.redpinequiltshop.com/shop/c/p/Star-Blast-Kit-with-Color-Wheel-x69056802.htm

I'm a little confused. What happens to all those slits?
@dutchyperon4407 Жыл бұрын
I was wondering the same. How do they covered up?
@bgturman Жыл бұрын
They are under the fold.
@redpinequiltshop9573 Жыл бұрын
After you sew the blocks together along the straight lines you will fold the edges over to create the curves. The slit will be hidden under one of those curved flaps. When you sew the curved edges down, the slit will be completely enclosed under one of them for every block.

I would have been nice to demonstrate sewing the "frame" , curved edges down. thanks for an easy way to make these. @@redpinequiltshop9573
