Comedian Catherine Bogart went to Mass in Ireland with her Catholic Deacon dad, and they were offering something that she hadn't seen at the Eucharist before... #standupcomedy #comedyspecial #eucharist

@@yesyes9698 ...very true: But her arrogance is breathtaking and typical of (sadly,) MANY today who ridicule and take every opportunity to put down the Catholic Church..... Gluten- free is for people who are gluten intolerant and who can become very ill if they ingest ANYTHING, containing gluten, EVEN the smallest amount of it in any food.. Since the Eucharist i.e. the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity...IS THE REAL PRESENCE of Jesus Christ and is the source and summit of our lives, and without it we die spiritually: we want to eat it to become LIKE Christ i.e. FULLY human, and FULLY alive and IF we ALLOW Him, ...ultimately saints. At the Consecration at Mass, Christ speaks the words: "This is My body...." THROUGH the voice of an ordained Catholic priest. There is ever ONLY 1 Mass being said, and that is Christ at the Last Supper / the SACRIFICE on Calvary. "The Eucharist is a 'time machine," " as author Dr. Peter Kreeft put it. We are all present there at that moment back in time as well as in the here and now. The ordinary bread (and wine,) become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ---the incarnate Son of God, and who is NOT just another prophet who says some cool things, guru or "nice guy''. The elements of the bread i.e. the taste, what we see and can touch remain the same: BUT the very SUBSTANCE changes into the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ i.e His REAL PRESENCE --- God speaks, and it IS. So making the receiving of Christ under the APPEARANCE of bread and wine accessible to all Catholics, IS the important thing.

At the Consecration at Mass, Christ speaks the words: "This is My body...." THROUGH the voice of an ordained Catholic priest. There is ever ONLY 1 Mass being said, and that is Christ at the Last Supper / the SACRIFICE on Calvary. "The Eucharist is a time machine, " as author Dr. Peter Kreeft put it. We are all present there at that moment back in time as well as in the here and now, for with God, there is no past, present or future---He sees ALL of time and space before Him . The ordinary bread (and wine,) become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ---the incarnate Son of God, who is NOT just another prophet who says some cool things, a guru or "nice guy''. The elements of the bread i.e. the taste, what we see and can touch remain the same: BUT the very SUBSTANCE changes into the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Christ i.e His REAL PRESENCE --- Jesus speaks,(through the ordained Catholic Priest,) the words of consecration and what Jesus says IS. So making the receiving of Christ under the APPEARANCE of bread and wine accessible to all Catholics, IS the important thing. In the Catholic Church we have the Sacraments which are outward tangible SIGNS of what is taking place INTERIORLY when we receive them: God's grace and power to strengthen us is present. But the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist IS the very gift of Christ Himself to us, ---His REAL PRESENCE and NOT A SYMBOL for Him. The frequent reception of the Sacraments are to help us become LIKE Christ and IF we allow Him, He will make us saints. At the Last Supper Jesus did not have 'altar bread' / wafers to distribute to the Apostles. Today and over the centuries altar wafers/ breads were created for the easy consumption and less chance of the particles/ crumbs from the sacred and consecrated host falling, because even the tiniest piece is still the full and REAL PRESENCE of Jesus Christ: and because they were easy to carry to the sick and the home bound. So, what is the big deal Ms. Bohart is making about 'gluten-free?!' There is no "new Eucharist"....! "Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever." Will she say the same for the Sacrament of Baptism...what kind of water to be used....rain, drinking or chlorinated .....!? There are some things you just DON'T make fun off and the Eucharist is definitely one of them.... Her obvious lack of proper catechesis and trendy dislike for Catholicism is so typical of many today.
