As someone who has had cancer, I was told, while in surgical recovery, "congrats the tumor is not cancerous!" However, when I went in for 6 week follow up appointment, I was informed that the biopsy had suprisingly revealed cancerous cells. So, as you can see, both of those reports or stories can absolutely be true. The last thing that a cancer patient needs is additional stress being heaped on them. I can't imagine having to deal with this crap while fighting for your life!

well said cancer if you pardon the pun is not the perfect patient rather a petulant brat liable to throw a wobbly at any time. This is why we are in remission after treatment never closed as cured. I, myself, have had a scare earlier this year but fortunately the cyst was begnine . However the consultant advised me to be vigilant so annual mammograms will be requested despite being 75. It can come back sadly and that is what we all have to live with while life goes on.

I am of the opinion that when Catherine had her major abdominal surgery she was found to have cancer.....cancerous cells which would have been removed as far as is possible. Pre cancerous cells can still remain but not be able to be removed that chemotherapy is needed. And 6 months of chemo is quite an undertaking especially after major surgery! Dear Lady C, Having been diagnosed with ovarian cancer and then endometrial cancer over the past 3 years, I can say with 100% certainty that chemo can ONLY be used to treat cancer cells. It's not a one size fits all solution, each type of cancer is treated with it's own unique chemo and cannot be used on non-cancerous cells. Therefore, the term "preventative chemo" is simply how oncologists explain using chemo on cancer cells to prevent it spreading further.

Yes, preventative chemotherapy is the term for when it is used as an adjunct therapy to a primary therapy. In the Princess of Wales the primary therapy was most probably surgical removal of the cancer. Chemotherapy is used to kill any remaining cancer cells.

​@@missanne2908Yes, that is how mine was treated. Fortunately, as in Catherine's case, both of my cancers were detected in the early stages. Even so, it was not an easy time. I lost half my body weight and also, through loss of muscle tone, the use of my legs. I spent weeks in rehab learning to walk again and have been left with some mobility issues. Im happy to report that my recent PET/CT scan was very encouraging. I wish Catherine and King Charles the very best, and extend the same wishes to all afflicted with this terrible disease and other illnesses.

Dear Lady C. Catherine was a jewel last weekend. I have so much admiration for her and William. The way they have raised their children through turbulent times will stand them in good stead as they become the young Royals of the future. I have had pre-cancer colon polyps removed and did not need chemo, I was very lucky and now every 3 years I am back, Sometimes I am clear, and sometimes not. I did suspect Cather had more than pre-cancer. I listened very carefully to her wonderful talk on the bench and she did say that cancer had been found to be present. Either way, it is all a worry for her and her future, No one thinks about how that news guts you. That you are only 42 with 3 babies to raise as Royals. She has had a lot to absorb. I pray for her often. My life was altered with my own mothers cancer...not once but the second time took her life. I was her caregiver and I know personally, the strength that family needs to face the inevitable. Catherine is a Jewel. I mean that as a commonwealth. We love her and the way she conducts herself. Had the Queen however known about this Rachel person, that wedding would have been squashed and we could have been spared the lies that are her everyday life. Let it be over. She finds her relatable because of the shade of their skin colour. Meghan thought because she’s lighter colouring to the darker shade that she’s superior and had called herself Caucasian. She was called out for it and hated that she was classed as other non whites or from Compton. The same with that narinder woman. In some cultures the darker skin are treated badly by their own people. So now she’s worried she be classed the same as the darker skin hence on Meghan’s side. She needs to help change how the darker people are treated.

If you understand what type of cancer Catherine has, you will understand everything. She and her representatives have never lied about anything -- they want to 1) protect her privacy, and 2) protect the public from erroneous and possibly harmful information about the disease. This is a rare type of cancer, very difficult to diagnose and treat. Most medical people don't even know about it. In 32 yrs of nursing, I only came across one case. The enormous stress caused by Halfwit and Methane have made her recovery all the more difficult, and I so admire Catherine's devoted husband's role as her defender and protector. This husband and father's burdens are enormous. He is a superhero, and I pray for and give thanks for him daily.

I have been put off of Dan Wooten lately, he continually brings Angela Levin on his show who has such a soft spot for H. According to Angela H has been misled. My Husband was found to have pre-cancer cells and a couple o weeks later when he went for treatment they found cancer. Eventually, he ended up with surgery. He lived for 30 years after with yearly tests and sometimes early treatment. Pre-cancer turns into cancer sometimes even with treatment. I think some people are just looking to discredit what the truth is.

From my experience, when you do a biopsy you may see precancerous cells. When you remove big tissue or organs and send organs to the Pathology dept, you very well may see cancerous cells or tumors.

Someone, please correct me if Im wrong. It struck me that in Harry's book, when he describes M crying on the stairs, she talks about how H and the baby would be better off without her (or something like that) but it was as if there was no connection that if she did anything to herself, it would also hurt the baby she was carrying. The way he told the story, it was almost as if there was no worry about hurting a baby in that moment , and I dont mean selfish disregard. Harry never expresses concern she might hurt their child. It reads like she wasn't pregnant at the time.

Abdominal surgery has a prolonged recovery in itself. Tests prior to surgery did not find cancer. The doctors discovered cancer, and The Princess has confirmed this in her own words, during the surgery and confirmed it in the lab when the tissue was submitted. But even pre-cancerous cells require treatment, so there should be no mystery either way!
