I prefer the older one for it's more unique atmosphere. It didn't feel human to me, almost sentient.. Also, I realise that the "sentience" of the old track ironically fits with the themes of this game with the 50 foot god-like aliens roaming the streets lol

The two best vibes in games, period. I'm the same way and especially this song just captures the feeling of wanting a moment to last forever IMO. The feeling of Vincent running out of things to do but wanting to stay at the bar and avoid going home. I don't know why but that is how I feel the entire time I play. Just wishing an NPC would have one more bit of dialogue so I can keep the good time going. Maybe because going home means more nightmares and more stressful puzzles, but I think those two halves just make the other feel even more impactful because of it.

I like this but I think I like the original a bit more. Somethin about how it sounded was so Mellow and quiet. Like you truly were alone and to yourself. You know that feeling when you see beautiful artwork for a game or show but the main character isn't there. You just think on that main character and you wonder where they are and what they could be doing... If that makes any logical sense. It had this charm to it that was nice. This version is great but it just feels a way to up beat then what it should be. But that's just me though. I'm sure it'll grow on me over time. I appreciate this Version though because the more I listen the more I love it. It's a strange blend. I love both versions.

I agree with you, I was thinking this version should be playing/used when Vincent is falling in love or the 2 ladies (Catherine or Rin) is seducing Vincent. While the original version can be used when Vincent becomes sad or depressed when he realizes his actions or cheating on Katherine.

I love both version too. It's been many years that Original came out. We all had at least one or two moment where our heart ache. That makes us prefer the old tune. For new dud playing the game will def get the feeling we got back then. Personally , i love previous version.

Now I love both version I REALLY DO. However if I had to pick a version, I'm giving it to the OG, only cause for the sake of the game. You feel that loneliness and isolation that Vincent feels. Even when he has Katherine....or Catherine I guess. He still feels alone, forced to deal with the mental and emotional trials of the Week......this one sounds like a Sexy Jazz Bar!!! Which yeah "Full Body" but it doesn't fit Vincent's theme.

this is a long comment, but I just wanted to share this lil story because why not. I remember listening to the original version of this, writing in a book just being on my depressed edgy 8th grade stuff. And the original Also Sprach Brooks made me think of this girl i had a huge crush on. Fast forward a few years later, I've been trying to focus on me. Been exercising, cut my hair off, and I even improved my drip. To top it off, I'm talking to the girl I had a huge crush on. But for some reason I couldn't get this version of the piece out of my head, but I came across a comment under this video and someone described this piece as "Confident", and it hit me. Those years of me focusing on my mental health n stuff have actually paid off. I've became more confident in myself. For the first time in years it feels as if life is going my way.

Personally not a fan. This song was supposed to be one of those emotional songs that made you think about life and about the choices you made. This arrange I don't get any of that. I get more of a, "Hey, let's hang out kinda vibe" far cry from the contemplative state of mind the original puts you in. Not saying it's bad by any stretch of the imagination. Just doesn't fit the mood of the original.

Remember, in Catherine you essentially have the good and evil path, in the og version you always get a depressed vibe no matter what, with this you can still find "joy" in the path Vicent is taking. If you go for a full "evil" path for instance with no regrets or anything, this version fits like a glove 👌🔥
