That was truly beautiful. I believe he truly did love her. They were torn apart by loses of children and Henry’s insecurities. But Henry had no right to treat her as horrible as he did at the end of their marriage at all. I wonder how he would take it today knowing that his precious boy never made any true mark in history at all. But his girls sure did. Mary was the first Queen regnant to rule England in her own right (just like Katherine knew she one day would) and Elizabeth brought England to the golden age her father could only dream of

@@giraffe2973 I like Elizabeth I and Mary I equally. I feel like the main difference between the 2 reigns is longevity. If Mary had gotten to rule as long as Elizabeth, she would be just a fondly remembered! I also am a big believer that Mary gets mangled by history.

@@bethanne1221 Mary would have been a tyrant like her father that’s why she gained the name “Bloody Mary” she would probably have brought back “the Spanish Inquisition” wanting to make England all Catholic but that wouldn’t have worked. During her reign, she burnt more than 260 people at the stake because according to her, they were heretics.

@@giraffe2973 that because back then they were heretics, even Elizabeth killed people for religious reasons, like I said she had time do more good than bad. Mary died before he even had a chance. Also ur whole comment is what I mean by Mary is butchered by history. Do some actual research in her before u judge her. Also considering in her eyes the reformation had destroyed her family! We all know that is was all Henry and Anne helped. But Mary was young when her father disowned her and her mother and treated them both horribly. That leaves a mark well into adulthood, especially when there was no such thing a therapy back then.

As much as I like the visual/costume, the chemistry, romance and how these characters’ accurate appearance, I don’t like how so many things are historically inaccurate. I am totally cool with movies that are not completely accurate, we do need to add some spice, but some things are too inaccurate in a bad way, they do not make it better. Also dislike how Catherine is portrayed as a liar, selfish, and somewhat too proud. I would like her to be more humble and kind, like the true Queen Catherine.

He couldve killed her yes, and he couldve started a war with Spain that'd make him wish he'd never been born. Trust, he would have killed her if he could and faced no consequences like he did with Anne and Catherine...two English commoner cousins. He did kill all the wives he had that weren't royally connected to another nation. The German royal one he wisely let live even though he claimed to hate her at first, and Spanish one, Catherine of Aragon, he VERY wisely let live. A war with Spain would have crushed him and he knew this. This is why he spent 7 years trying to divorce her. Seven YEARS Lol and finally, would rather split with the catholic church than piss off Spain THAT badly. But the ones not backed by an army? he murdered them without a second thought.

It's a pity they are not having a 3rd season because of lack of reviews I have seen the first and second seasons about a hundred times but I believe you have to be a history buff to enjoy history. People don't go much for history if it's not criminal minds and such. But I have to say the actors did a good job and the series was well played. Well, good to see what a young king Henry would have looked like cause all I have seen so far is this square jawed fatty every time you talk about king Henry. 😁
