While Catherine did know a few things about her husband starting to ‘tickle Elizabeth’ and ‘slap her’, she wasn’t too concerned as it wasn’t the most scandalous thing possible. She did even join in but there’s no evidence that Elizabeth was ever raped by them. It’s even said that Elizabeth had some degree of affection for them both. But Catherine did eventually send her away when she felt like her husband escalated things. Catherine left her husband everything when she died only for him to express joy at her death as he was now one of the richest men in England and there is evidence that he wanted to marry Elizabeth but she avoided him.

Mary? She didn’t actually. Elizabeth became queen after Mary died. Even though Elizabeth wasn’t the saint everyone makes her out to be. She actually executed as many Catholics as Mary executed Protestants during her reign. But in my opinion, Mary had it the worst. She was declared a bastard at 13 (I think?) Anne Boleyn actually told the ladies to hit her if she proclaimed that her mother was the rightful queen. She lost her mother a bit after Henry and Anne got married and wasn’t allowed to see her after the divorce. She had some kinda illness that she suffered from (and later would make her unable to have children) her husband left her after it was reviled that she hadn’t been pregnant, but rather had had a phantom pregnancy (or a tumor that maybe could have been the cause of her death later on). I’m not a history expert, so some of this may be wrong. But I think she had it the worst- Not trying to say that Elizabeth didn’t have it bad tho.

The script people know on KZbin is THIS one which includes the Queens fighting and Howard saying “it’s time to decide who won.” The official script currently in use for the show removes the fight.
