I grew up watching Boston bands and saw Mission of Burma. They're great but this cover (and Moby's) does it justice in it's own way.

The one nobody ever mentions or knows is perhaps the best version (besides the untouchable original) is post-Naked Raygun band Pegboy. 3 totally different bands all touched by the same song...though not many people are aware that Moby started out in a hardcore punk band, Vatican Commandos. Not a fan of his more recent music, Moby was at least cool enough to be on board for a VC reunion which new songs were recorded. Not bad. I love Burma as much as any superfan, I don't mind anyone covering their songs...but nobody is going to build on the original.

Saw these guys support the Smashing Pumpkins in Edinburgh, early 1990s, Calton Studios. Total accident, we hadn't set out to see the Smashing Pumpkins. Went to see Skyclad at the Venue who for whatever reason didn't play. So we stoated down the road to the Studios.

So I was just playing random stuff from Itunes and decided to play this version....and it does not seem to be in my Itunes library.....Does anyone recall it's release? Is it on a disc somewhere...I'm not seeing it. I saw Mission of Burma's final show at the Bradford Hotel (new venue now). I saw Catherine Wheel and have I thought all the stuff they did with Tanya Donnelly...so given the Boston connection to this song as well I thought I had it. Maybe an Itunes gremlin...again....
