La Montagne nue - Yannick SEIGNEUR (1982)

This is a report of a Himalayan expedition that attempted to conquer the South-East pillar of Nanga Parbat in the spring of 1982. The film is based on a report of the expedition but there is also a historical presentation of Nanga Parbat in the narrative.

Y. Seigneur was one of the best alpinist in high altitude of this time. He was interested in difficult climbs - he never searched boring climbs with endless walks like Everest normal. Y. was an exception amongst Himalaya-climbers. He was a cooperative, kind, and selfless man - and with Messner and Diemberger one of the first 3 climbers who reached 3 peaks higher than 8.000.
