There really is no confusion! The creator kept sending prophets to disobedient humans as they repeatedly fell from grace. Humans kept changing the original message. Because all the religions came from the same God, some misunderstood and took their prophets as their own God and some accepted half of it, one Jew even before prophet Muhammad pbuh got revelation asked someone about his prophecy because no one sat under the shadow of particular tree except prophets. Yet the many Jews rejected the prophecy because they were angry of God because he's an Arab and not from bani Israel. In Bible ISA pbuh as well said about prophet Muhammad pbuh.
