I really appreciate Greg's narrative approach. I always realize new things when hearing passages interpreted next together, e.g. house divided with brothers and sisters. However, I wonder if today's reading has more to do with unity in Christ, moreso than the pope. Institutions always fail us and will always be divided. People are just like that. So too are traditions and cultures, families, generations. So fathers, brothers, sisters - we are always divided in some way and life is full of tensions, conflicts. The church is no exception. Our only true unity is in christ, and in the person and character of christ we recognise a God who will not forsake, in whose love our community will stand.

We should refrain from judging our parents. Rather pray for them. The same way we refrain from judging our pope, priests, rather we pray for them for Godly Wisdom in carrying out their vocation. We may not agree with their decision based on our understanding - surely each of us have a blind spot - limitations of complete understanding. Only God knows all things 360°. Let's offer 1 Our Father 3 Hail for judgemental statements. This my 2 cents opinion. God bless Australia, and all of us. Grant us peace.
