I struggle with doubt about my past where I commited grave sexual sins, I went to confession and confessed after hiding it for a long time and in my heart, mind and actions I've changed but I get doubts all the time in my head saying "you haven't confessed properly" "what if you haven't been forgiven, go reconfess". It got to the point I told a priest in another confession that I can't forgive myself and that i get doubts, he said "forget the past, you have been forgiven" but I still get doubts. Please pray for me 🙏

Recently, I’ve been struggling with this feeling. Mainly because I keep thinking of the story of Esau, no matter how much research I do, no matter how hard I try to understand I just can’t. Am I in danger of becoming like Esau? Unable to repent?

Is it possible that these interpretations can be right?: - Willing to be forgiven but not knowing he can, so he doesn't realize he can accept forgiveness (like a sin against the spirit of conversion, thinking he cannot be forgiven) and therefore doesnt accept it in the sacraments? While if you know you can be forgiven for anysituation it is good?. - or once someone has died in this life, cannot reach forgiveness anymore, even if he cries like Esau?

for the first one, someone could cry because he doesnt want a situation, and try to change it with tears but thinking he cannot be forgiven, while he really could. So he would be seeking the blessing that comes from forgiveness without knowing that the gate would be forgiveness itself. Maybe this is a possible interpretation?
