For those who aren't familiar with the CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY, THE CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY is prayed on regular Rosary beads. We are to concentrate on the the 5 virtues of the SORROWFUL MYSTERIES OF THE ROSARY, which are: FOR THE SAKE OF HIS SORROWFUL PASSION, HAVE MERCY ON US AND ON THE WHOLE WORLD: 10xs - pray on the ten beads and concentrate: 1 - Resignation to the will of God - Jesus in the garden, His apostles are sleeping, the soldiers come. St. Peter cuts off the ear of one soldier. Jesus says, "You have suffered enough." and restores the soldiers' ear. Jesus is put in a harness and dragged and pulled. His feet bleed, as He has no sandals on His feet. 2 - Mortification - Jesus is scourged. 3 - Humility - the crowning of thorns. Jesus is slapped by a slave and the crowd beats Him, spits on Him, (unclean in Jewish Law. One must remain out of contact with all persons for 7 days). Jesus is given a reed for a scepter and He is hit with it. A Crown of Thorns is placed on Jesus' head and pushed down on His forehead. 4 - Patience - the Stations of the Cross. Jesus most grievous wound is caused by the sawing of the wooden cross through His flesh, muscles, nerves, sinew, tendons and comes to rest on His bare shoulder bone. 5 - Love of our enemy - The Crucifixion. Jesus garments, adhered to His flesh from dried blood, are ripped off Him, ripping the flesh off His body. Jesus is nailed to the cross. Upon the cross, Jesus says, "I thirst." A soldier saturates a sponge in vinegar and gall, puts the sponge on the tip of the spear and raises it to Jesus' mouth. Thereby giving Jesus His most bitter potion of gall and vinegar. JESUS DIES ON THE CROSS. ** Jesus side is pierced with a spear and the last fluids in His body, blood and water, GUSH forth as a FOUNT OF DIVINE MERCY, for us. The temple rent in two, there is an earthquake and the whole land is dark. There is thunder and lightening. A soldier says, "This truly is the son of God." Joseph of Aramathea asks Pilot for Jesus' body and Pilot agrees. But the soldier pierces the side if Jesus with a lance. Blood and water GUSH forth as THE FONT OF DIVINE MERCY for us. The piercing of Jesus' most sacred side fulfils the prophecy of David. "They have pierced my hands and feet and numbered all my bones." Jesus is placed in His mothers' arms. Mary Magdalene goes ahead to prepare the ointments, and fragrances for Jesus' mother, Mary, when she cleans the body of her son, Jesus. The Virgin Mary is the last to leave the tomb and Jesus' tomb is sealed. Soldiers stand guard. THE FIVE DECADES ARE COMPLETE. ** WORDS OF OUR LORD RECORDED BY SISTER FAUSTINA: "At three o'clock implore My mercy especially for sinners; and if only for a brief moment, steep yourself in My Passion, particularly in My ABANDONMENT AT THE MOMENT OF AGONY. This is the hour of great mercy for the whole world. I will allow you to enter into My deathlike sorrow. In this hour I will refuse nothing to the soul that makes a request of Me in virtue of My Passion. (IV, 59). I remind you, My daughter, that as often as you hear the clock strike the third hour, immerse yourself completely in My mercy, adoring and glorifying it; invoke its' omnipotence for the whole world, and particularly for poor sinners, for at that moment it was opened wide for every soul. In this hour you can obtain everything for yourself and for others for the asking; it was the hour of grace for the whole world - mercy triumphed over justice. My daughter, try your best to make the Stations of the Cross in this hour, provided that your duties permit it and if you are not able to make the Stations of the Cross, then at least step into the chapel for a moment and adore in the most Blessed Sacrament My Heart, which is full of mercy; and should you be unable to step into chapel, steep yourself in prayer there, where you happen to be, if only for a very brief instant. I claim, (as My due) veneration for My mercy from every creature, but from you first of all, since to you I have given to understand this mystery most deeply. Supreme attribute of Almighty God, You are the sweet hope for sinful man. Into one hymn unite yourselves stars, earth and sea, And the Divine Mercy, Incomprehensible, in concert, praise charmingly. (II 295 - 297). THE CHAPLET OF DIVINE MERCY is a VERY POWERFUL PRAYER. This CHAPLET, given SISTER FAUSTINA was banned for 20 years and was behind the Iron Curtain. POOE JOHN PAUL II, as CARDINAL KAROL WOJTYLA released the ban and as our dear POPE JOHN PAUL II, brought SISTER FAUSTINA to the altar of Sainthood. SAINT FAUSTINA is so strong, so passionate, so loving and kind - anyone who prays this Chaplet, (usually kneeling with arms outstretched), will receive SAINT FAUSTINAS' grace.
