I personally don’t because I have an educational channel, so I, like you, like to keep my content relevant to what my audience needs. Also, love the consultation style videos in addition to what you normally do. Maybe one a month?

Do you think you could ever do a video for people who had their channel semi blow up and then completely die? Someone who already has tons of videos and is deep into it. Would you suggest starting completely over and trying to rebuild your brand?

Hi, as long as you didn't stir up major brand-damaging controversy, it might be good to continue using your channel. You already have good content if your channel blew up in the past. And you already have subscribers who will be really happy to see you back at it. I'm kind of in the same boat, resurrecting my channel after not posting for a while. An important thing to keep in mind is subscriptions work differently nowadays. If people don't click the bell icon to receive all notifications, they might only get notified for some of your new videos or none at all even. I got used to the way the algorithm used to work, and I never put any work into adding good titles, descriptions and thumbnails for my videos. But over time my traffic dwindled and I went from monetized to not. I have been updating my titles, descriptions and tags and now I'm starting to see my traffic pick up a little again. These things help your videos show up in searches more often.

That's a sad topic for me 😥 my channel kinda blew up when i was pregnant and gave birth, and then started slowly dying down (i do vlogging). I guess people are more interested in pregnancy and labor&delivery stuff than my everyday life with children 😂

​@@luluirmes Your channel design and video quality are great and I'm pretty sure people love to see videos with babies! For your most popular videos with 17k views did you check the analytics to see where the traffic was coming from? For example, if some popular blogger linked to your video or something? If so, maybe reach out and see if they're interested in covering one of your newer videos. Another thing you can try is playing with closed captions/subtitles. Maybe Lithuanian and English to reach a more global audience. I think closed captions can be helpful even if you only have them in the native language because an increasing number of people watch video without sound, especially on mobile. Also, having a transcript for your video can improve the searchability of your video because now the "algorithm" can use your whole transcript to search for keywords. You can even use KZbin's automatic captioning. I don't know how well it works with Lithuanian but with English it's almost perfect and you only have to go in and make small changes. Once done, you can also use KZbin's built in translation to add an English version. And just to be clear, I don't think you need to speak English. Captions are great because they let you speak in the language you're most comfortable with while allowing you to reach a more global audience.

Engagement with your subs and audience is a big one Collaborating with people in your field or even branching out too. Of course the ones that are a given, consistency, making sure you bring something unique to the table that others dont. Hope that helps 🙌🏼

When I had a video go "viral" thankfully I had all my affiliate stuff set up but because I wasn't expecting the success, I did not have a follow up video planned to capitalize on the traction and I missed my window!

Not to discourage anyone, but the truth is being successful on KZbin is almost an impossibility. It’s just too saturated now and that’s putting it mildly. Regardless of what niche you’re in, there’s one constant related to all of them: luck. Without it, it doesn’t matter how good your thumbnails are. Doesn’t matter how great your video is. If nobody even knows your content exists, you’re not going to get any views. Want to try to post it in Facebook groups, Reddit, etc? Good luck with that because there’s a reason why people say self-promotion is frowned upon. So if you can’t self promote and nobody even knows your content exists, it really comes down to one thing: luck. The KZbin algorithm just has to work in your favor in that particular time. This channel got as big as it did because luck played a significant factor in making some of the videos semi-viral. Think about how many people are uploading to KZbin every second. Again, I don’t want to discourage anyone from making content, but at the same time, I don’t want people to be naive in thinking hard work pays off. Analytics and descriptions could only take you so far. Luck (more than once) needs to be the biggest thing on your side.

I've been taking Roberto Blake’s advice, and while my videos are ranking, I am still not seeing growth. I absolutely LOVE what I do and that I’m being paid to do it fulltime, but it would be nice to see growth lol. I have affiliate marketing, coupon codes, went to BeautyCon, I've done Collabs, complete descriptions, social media links, etc....and nothing.

I appreciate the video. Here are some challenges I have faced: 1. I created my KZbin channel when I was 13 (I am 27 now), and I had no foresight. I did not even really think about creating videos... my channel was mostly for commenting, and then I uploaded a video of my sims and a video of a dog my family was fostering... and yes, it was always called 'Whackowitch'. I did, however, have this weird serendipitous moment where, upon becoming an adult, I started practicing things like astrology... "witchy" things, even though back when I was 13 I didn't even really know what any of that was... I created the name 'Whackowitch' because it somehow expressed my inner angst in feeling like a misunderstood outcast. 2. My name is not the same across all platforms. When I first started doing astrology readings, I knew nothing about marketing... I was also at a point where I was not bold enough to use names like 'Whackowitch'. I called it 'Penny Astrology' (because Penny is my name) and I continued to use this for my website. I have thought about changing it, but since astrology readings are personal, I wanted to keep my business name personal. I still cannot bring myself to change it; I just stuck with what felt right... I am not sure if this makes me an exception to the marketing rule, but I do think sometimes you need to just follow your intuition. 3. It was a long time before I had any kind of logo at all... I just never had an idea... Now I have the planet Saturn wearing a witch hat, but I have been designing it myself and I'm not even an artist. It has been my hope that it is at least charming... Lol. 4. I am actually super shy and it's literally taken decades for me to start coming out of my shell. 5. I did not have a good or even consistent filming space.

Love your videos so much! I've had a channel for 4.5 years but only rarely posted.... until i discovered your videos! And this past month I've been posting regularly and really seeing some early growth :) my worry is that because my channel is about promoting NOT buying makeup and NOT consuming things... that there isn't any affiliate marketing I'd be able to do. So this is something I'll be thinking about the next little while.
